Isn't it great (and surprising) that Obama met every single expectation the THs were looking for? |
|
After every state Obama won, the question was, "What does he have to do/what should we be looking for if he wins the next state?" And the answer was always some high standard he'd have to meet, i.e., he'd have to get more white voters, he'd have to get more women voters, he'd have to win by a large margin, etc. And he delivered every single time! He has already accomplished what we would've considered nearly impossible just a month ago or so!

The voters had seen this campaign before and weren't impressed anymore.

8. the margin was greatly reduced as a result of his campaigning. Look at the margins where clinton has |
|
won...very small.
That is the difference!! he has won more states and the ones he has lost have been be lesser margins that clinton has against him.

5. For Obama to be in the position he is in now, on the verge of becoming the nominee, he |
|
had to do everything almost perfectly--fundraising, speeches, town hall questions, interviews, debates, policy, media image, message, and finally, getting out the vote. He has run a nearly flawless campaign--no matter what happens next, this race will be a juicy one for pundits, historians and poli-sci classes to dissect for years to come.

10. I agree. And he did all that running against one of the most popular Dem. presidents we |
|
ever had, as well as Hillary AND the majority of the establishment!

6. Just wait until after he takes Texas and Ohio.... |
|
by double digits.
I'm in Iowa, and when I saw the Obama campaign up-close-and-personal, I knew he would win Iowa and he would be our eventual nominee. There has never been a ground game like Obama's.
It's taken him a while to overcome the locked-in, inevitability of Hillary, but he did it. He's broken through.
Now we just sit back and watch him take each state by double digits.

I guess his work as a community organizer helped his ability to do all that. And he's just such a great candidate even the "expert" Clintons don't know what to do to stop him!
I remember Chris Matthews declaring the establishment ALWAYS wins, and he all but declared the "dream" dead, saying it's sad. Boy was HE wrong!

...there's so much in this primary that *doesn't* count, it's amazing!
I know that millions of voters will count. I know that Texas and Ohio will count. There's no disputing that.
Bill Clinton said it himself!
