24. Yep, I wrote an empassioned thread about Strickland yesterday.
As the poster below said, what an embarrassing bobblehead. How can you stand on a stage with her, nod your head while she says "Shame on you, Barack Obama!" while you're supposedly the Governor of the STATE of Ohio, and de facto leader of the STATE Democratic Party?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4728155

I'm still a little chafed over that, Ted.

71. Sorry, VolcanoJen, but you and I differ on this
There are active Governors and Senators all over the country stumping for candidates, even attacking the records of candidates. Why is it different because this time it's a governor taking his stand with Hillary Clinton? If elected representatives of states ought to keep their personal political preferences to themselves then by all means please tell Senators Kerry and Kennedy, as well as a number of Obama-supporting governors, to sit down and STFU. Strickland is a good governor, decent man, and one who has probably accomplished more for education, for the poor and unemployed in two years than some could claim for a entire career. Yet now he's nothing but a "bobble head", a "yes man" or worse? Why, because he doesn't go along with what y'all want?

I haven't said a one negative thing about Kerry, Kennedy or any other elected official who has endorsed Obama even when that support came with some criticism of HRC. But by God let anyone stand with Hillary and all the sudden they're treated like gutter trash around here. It really is shameful.

Governor shows campaign support
By FRANK LEWIS
PDT Staff Writer

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland said he has two reasons for supporting U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) for the Democratic nomination for president.

"The first reason is personal," he said. "Across the years that I've been in office, no one has been more faithful to me than she (Hillary Clinton) has."

<snipping>

"When I was a candidate, she would send me a contribution even when I didn't ask for it. She has always been faithful to me, but that's the personal reason," he said. "That's not the really important reason."

Strickland said there is no comparison as to the experience of the two Democratic candidates, Clinton and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

"If you look at Sen. Clinton's background and experience - and what she has accomplished in her life - if you compare that with Sen. Obama, there is really not much comparison," he said....

Instead of changing her tactics, she's going negative again.

"I don't see the pattern yet,"

The way your blinders are adjusted, it's a miracle you see anything at all.

Not to worry, her drubbing on March 4th will be unmistakable.

"just the MSM destroying her at any chance"

They don't need to, she's doing a fine job at destroying herself already.

She didn't attack him, she didn't say anything about him personally, she made sense and pointed out the fact that unity is not achieved by some magic parting of the skies, instead it's complicated and difficult.

Apparently only she has the wisdom and common sense to understand that, and I'm embarrassed for the Democrats at so many people's shrill, hysterical and over-sensitive reactions to her tough and realistic speech.

...charging sexism every time someone accurately describes Hillary.

Sometimes women ARE drama queens.

Sometimes men are too.

Sometimes women are hysterical.

Sometimes men are as well.

And sometimes women sound like bitter old hags when they mock people and use
sarcasm and lies to prop themselves up. Deal with it!

Geez, I thought we women had come a long way? We can't deal with words now?
I thought we were tough enough and accomplished enough to be able to chose words
and call out women who ARE behaving like drama queens and jerks.

Golly, Hillary Clinton can act like a complete jerk, and we're not supposed to
say anything about it, or call her out accurately--because she's a WOMAN! Oh dear!

THAT kind of thinking is sexist! I'm a woman, and if I acted like Hillary Clinton
just did in that video, I would expect that people would mock me right back and
ask my why I'm behaving like such a ranging-lunatic drama queen. I'd also expect
everyone to criticize my nightmare yellow and black pantsuit that makes me look like a
enormous bumblebee!

HA! We are women...hear us roar! ...And sometimes that involves calling out other
women who are behaving like fools and also having the freedom to chose accurate and
appropriate words without fear of the 'word police' issuing a pathetic chorus of
"That's just SO sexist!!"

If the Jimmy Choos fit....wear em!

Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 05:53 PM by the dogfish
is that if anyone was actually shocked and outraged over that speech, they'll need some medication and emotional support through the GE.

Did she attack him personally? Did she say anything derogatory?

Or did she simply point out reality saying unity won't happen magically and that it's complicated and difficult? Oooh! Gasp! How dare she!

If Obama and/or his supporters can't handle that, then I don't want them running the friggen country, that's for sure.

against opponents on issues and in politics. As much as I don't like it during campaigns I'm finding the thought of another administration doing the same thing to be even more distasteful...no matter that this time its a dem doing it; it shouldn't be done. We need to stop the long spiral downward in the quality of public discourse.

Is this the way she discusses and resolves issues and would she do it in the WH? Or is this just tough campaigning? She will be attacked in the WH...will she be strong but graceful in response or will she be arrogant, combative, and negative?

42. That's too bad..cause all these
Dem politicians who enable hilary to do her damnest will have to be eating some mock crow soup when Obama wins and with our help turns this country around..unless they want to left in the toxic dust.

What do you think bil said to hil after today's performance? "Just a little too much, don'tcha think, hilary?"

11 in a row and now she mocks the guy that beat her!

That's the very definition of a "poor loser".

81. What's pathetic is how fast Hillary has fell out of favor with the American people.
It is totally astounding to me that even people that live clear down in South Carolina, and in Alabama, and in Georgia totally rejected the rascist bullshit comments that Bubba made about Obama.

That right there is proof that there is hope for America yet.

83. Sen. Whitehouse held a fundraiser for her at his house.
http://www.boston.com/news/local/rhode_island/articles/2008/02/24/hillary_clinton_campaigns_in_rhode_island_boston/
Clinton attended a morning fundraiser at the home of U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse. She held a late afternoon health care round-table in Central Falls before heading to a fundraiser in Boston.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/02/25/clinton_tells_ri_voters_she_needs_them/?page=2
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, and Congressman Jim Langevin appeared with Clinton at the events.

"We can make a big difference," Whitehouse told Clinton supporters. "The country is watching. We can't let Massachusetts out-do us here. We've got to do a good Rhode Island job for Hillary Clinton."

end.
I didn't know Whitehouse was for Hillary. I don't get it. He laughed and clapped at her antics also. I just don't get it.
