Could it be that Huckabee's staying in the race |
|
so he'll be well-positioned to run as a third party candidate after the convention?
What are the rules about federal matching funds? Would he qualify?

4. Not if the Bushies have their way |
|
They despise and fear everything about Huckabee, and have no interest in the small number of wingnut votes he might hand to McCain. Never happen.

But Him running 3rd party and drawing the fundies away from McCain would be great though!

14. I know it's probably just wishful thinking. |

But sometimes that's fun.

...I doubt this will be his last run.

15. But why is he hanging on so long? He's already made himself a contender. |
|
And if he keeps this up too long, he'll start drawing some resentment, I would think.
Unless McCain actually does implode.

9. Waiting for McCain to blow up or blow out. |

He wants to be the one who's still left standing.

10. Someone might have slipped Huckabee the headline on McCain from |
|
this past week, only including the parts the TIMES omitted.
We may not have heard the tail end of the tale yet re McCain's lobbying connections, and were the stake to be deeply-enough driven, ol' Huck would be pleased to step into the winner's circle for the nom.

He's staying in the race just in case the other shoe drops on McCain. Then, when they have to pick anothe nominee at their Convention, he will be sitting there with more delegates than anyone else.

win the Democratic primary. I didn't know about sore loser laws.

I think he's staying in the race until he gets more delegates than Mittens. Huckabee really, really dislikes Romney.
