No wonder Obama's camp seemed a step ahead of HRC's in TX

Her people JUST figured out the TX primary system...like a week or two ago. Guess they got to cocky in the beginning and figured it wasn't worth their time to learn about TX??

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/17/AR2008021702461_2.html?hpid=moreheadlines&sid=ST2008021702479

Several top Clinton strategists and fundraisers became alarmed after learning of the state's unusual provisions during a closed-door strategy meeting this month, according to one person who attended.

What Clinton aides discovered is that in certain targeted districts, such as Democratic state Sen. Juan Hinojosa's heavily Hispanic Senate district in the Rio Grande Valley, Clinton could win an overwhelming majority of votes but gain only a small edge in delegates. At the same time, a win in the more urban districts in Dallas and Houston -- where Sen. Barack Obama expects to receive significant support -- could yield three or four times as many delegates.

<snip>

Hinojosa saw another reason for Clinton to be concerned about the caucuses: The working-class voters who have typically favored her candidacy could be too tired or too busy to vote during the day and then return after 7 p.m. to attend a caucus.

"Anytime you require additional steps, that means extra effort, and that's particularly hard on working families," Hinojosa said.

Guess even her TX based camp didn't catch on cuz last month the head guy was saying Obama didn't stand a chance because HRC would win S Texas (and therefore, the whole TX primary) since Obama hadn't "been south of San Antonio" (as of the time of the quote)...Is it any wonder WHY since the majority of TX delegates are located in NORTH Texas?? Obama's strategy people probably got a good chuckle out of THAT comment.

The "we finally caught a clue" probably accounts for the last minute rush of N Texas pseudo-rallys on the part of HRC camp in the last 2 weeks. Chelsea having small gatherings at 3 local colleges, HRC at a poorly attended Dallas rally (on a workday at 9 in the morning outside in 40 degree weather with "a few hundred" in the audience--local reporter calling it more of a high school pep rally compared to Obama's 17,000), and then today with Bill Clinton with a crowd of 1,000 people at an Arlington, TX park. They are having to play catch up in an area with the most delegates.

4. My only comment is this...
Texans can vote NOW !! They don't have to wait for the date of the Primary. If they vote early, they should be able to set aside time for the caucus. That is,........if they want to. Obama's been telling his audiences this since he started his Texas campaign! If Hillary can't run her campaign it's staff, and her finances(pizza or donuts anyone?) How can we trust her to run our country!!

6. And hopefully TX is where he'll finish killing her candidacy
Let's hope he buries her there. Completely. That would be so lovely. I'll cheer the demise of her pathetic candidacy.

8. 'killing, burying' . . .
and you folks talk about someone destroying the unity of the party.

10 million voters who cast their ballot for Hillary Clinton disagree with you.

9. common enough parlance
and I'm a poster on a political board, not a candidate. Hill can do what she wants but she what she's doing is pretty contemptible. I hope Obama hits back.
