Pennsylvania Ground Game Update!!!
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 07:21 PM by Yael
Obama's supporters have 166 upcoming events scheduled: http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/search_results?type=advanced&orderby=day&state=pa

Hillary's team hasn't scheduled anything yet: http://hillaryclinton.com/hq/pennsylvania/

1. Ultimately...
...I think they will both actually hold the same number of campaign events in PA. Hillary's number.

He wants the grassroots support energised everywhere

9. This isn't him -- this is volunteers getting the army together for when they hit the state
We have tens of thousands of boots already working on GOTV and just waiting on the Generals to come give us the direction to swamp the state.

3. Interesting, thanks for posting this
Is it possible that she is thinking of dropping out and has not bothered to plan anything?

He knows that he needs Pennsylvania in the GE so he is gonna start there asap?

Just speculating

11. Obama's camp isn't organizing these (although they do coordinate)
These are all volunteer efforts at this point. We are lining up the troops.

6. Pennsylvania doesn't count?

Seriously, it doesn't seem as if the Hillary team thinks it will go past Ohio and Texas. Why else (other than sheer incompetence) would they let themselves get this far behind in the ground game?

8. The only ground game she ran well was Nevada, and she doesn't have the money to duplicate it.

14. Right now, the volunteers are funding this
We are making our own signs and shirts and canvassing for Obama with GOTV registration drives.

His campaign has a few offices, but they aren't pouring money into the state yet -- this is all volunteer driven.

You know -- the stuff that wins General Elections. :woohoo:

19. I didn't take you that way at all!
Just underscoring that the financial machine hasn't even hit here yet. No flyers, mailers, ads, nothing.

Just people -- really, really excited people.

10. I was thinking the same thing
and it may be coming down to $$$, the Clinton machine knows that the money will dry up if they are not successful next week.

12. I don't think she knows what is about to hit her here.
This isn't formal campaign events -- this is JUST the volunteers working on GOTV and prepping for the Obama Tsunami to hit town.

15. Yael:
What I cannot believe here in Philly, is the number of folks who normally ignore these primaries who come into my dental office and go on and on about the debates or the campaigns or the candidates. Everyone here's all fired up and ready to rock and roll.

Eddie's really sweating this one out...

You in this area, or out 'West' in Allegheny County?

17. I have been enjoying the Fast Eddie backstroke competition.

Philly has several large (over 500) groups that I am aware of. Young Lawyers Group, each of the schools, some of my center city peeps with a Market St group, etc...

It is invigorating!

I am just west of you all. PA-16.

22. Hillary doesn't even have a full slate of delegates in PA....I guess PA don't count either
Maybe the campaign unconsciously knew it was going to be over for them by then anyhow....
