2. No kidding. But TwoSparkles may be right.
Having to deal with these idiots may be good practice for the general. Not as interesting as actual debates but maybe useful.

IMHO to have a good hard debate. I don't want softball questions thrown at the candidates by someone chosen by the party.

I think Russert and Williams did an excellent job, keeping the candidates on topic and challenging them.

5. They discussed total bullshit for 90% of the debate.
Hardly any time at all spent on issues that actually matter.

But why would the networks agree to that? I guess they could probably put stuff on C-SPAN but who knows if the cable nets would actually carry it.
