He is going to pay dearly in credibility for the Iraq vs. Afghanistan remark. He'll leave and never invade again if Iraq, a sovereign nation, requests it. However, he'll leave and never invade Afghanistan again only if they don't harbor terrorists. Isn't that the same kind of waffling that served Bush so well, because you can be a sovereign nation and not bow to the U.S., and the U.S. can determine who/what it considers to be a terrorist? And he deferred to her remarks on at least two other foreign policy questions.
He fails to see that she's absolutely right regarding including parents in mandated health care, because if the parents grow ill, they cannot work and more subsidies have to be raised to maintain the children's coverage.
And his co-presidency remarks are just a shell game. Clinton knows what she worked on and where she was included. This did not require her to be in 100% agreement with her husband from a policy standpoint. On the other hand, I fault her deeply for not mentioning how much of Obama's state legislature time was spent campaigning for the next step to the U.S. Senate (while also trying to practice law), and how much of his short tenure in the U.S. Senate has been occupied with running for President. This is a fast track that cries "dilettante."

I thought the debate quite good. They had some tough questions to respond to and they both had grace under pressure. I have to say I may have my perceptions colored because of my candidate choice, but I thought Hillary edged Obama out a little. But I can't really argue with the perception of it being a tie either.

Obama won. It looked to be swaying towards Hillary on the open with the health care discussion (despite the first question nonsense). Then Obama scored on NAFTA & foreign policy helping to shift the debate momentum. Hillary's parsing of "rejection" versus "denunciation" was awkward and a little petty, followed by a classically deflating response from Obama. She should know by now not to walk into those. Her strength is policy discussion; Obama makes her look silly when she starts getting into tit-for-tat. I thought it was a good finish for both, but overall Obama maintained the lead.
