Why didn't Russert quote Farrakhan's "endorsement" of Obama?
Here's the question no one is asking:
Why didn't Russert quote Farrakhan's "endorsement" of Obama?

God forbid you should die from the suspense, so let me show you what Timmy neglected to tell you:

"We are witnessing the phenomenal rise of a man of color in a country that has persecuted us because of our color," Farrakhan said. "This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better."

To that sentiment I have only one word to add:
Amen.

1. Who cares what Farrakhan said in his endorsement? It wasn't solicited.
It shouldn't have been a question. Farrakhan is as irrelevant as David Duke.

3. agreed. Unless we want to get into the Coulter reccomendation
et al.

the point is, endorsements should not be that relevant to the candidate themselves.

2. Maybe Timmeh thought he was doing Obama a favor.
I mean, they had their matching ties on like
they were BFFs on the first day of school.

4. I think Farrakhan purposely stopped short of an official endorsement
but that didn't stop the media from insisting it was. And I think he knew that Obama would throw him under the bus.

Thanks for the official quote.

can't exactly hang your hat on racist dialogue for decades and then expect people to want you to come around and voice your opinion.

5. Russert was positively drooling in his desire to quote Farrakhan
and the nasties he's said regarding Jewish people. Obama cut him off at the pass; that would have served no purpose other than to advertise for Farrakhan. I think Obama handled that quite well.

8. He was stumbling over himself to get in additional quotes and details...

He did the same thing to Hillary on a couple occasions, even going so far as to interrupt her. I actually take my hat off to both for keeping their cool despite having such an asshat for moderator. Obama did shine through, though. He handled most of the tough questions perfectly.

9. I noticed that as well. The way that Obama stomped on Tim's attempt to

lower the discussion even further was well done.

14. Because The Quote Itself Wasn't The Point. The Endorsement Was.
Unreal how some make a story where one didn't exist.
