The Obama/Clinton vs. McCain polls are irreleveant... |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 09:18 AM by TwoSparkles
When we see these Obama v McCain and Clinton v McCain polls that show who is leading--I think we should completely ignore them--until our nominee is selected.
No way has America experienced the full force of a Dem nominee, who will be running against a man who said we could be in Iraq "for 100 years." The majority of Americans now reject the Iraq war. American are sick and tired of this neocon war mentality. They've grown weary, watching our domestic agenda suffer--to fund these disastrous, tragic war games.
Speaking of domestic agendas, McCain fails to address our healthcare crisis. An issue important to most Americans. Republicans aren't exactly known for their support of education, college assistance and other programs that help the middle class. Has McCain even put forth a plan to help those losing their homes?
McCain came out and said that he doesn't know very much about economics. We'll kill him on that one--especially with so many Americans focused on the poor economy-- as we slip into a recession. People who care about the economy will find a Dem a lot more attractive than an elitist Republican who is now embracing the Bush tax cuts that benefit the wealthy--that McCain once rejected!
McCain is still hanging on to the failed agenda of George Bush. He has embraced (literally--we all saw the hug) George Bush and continues to speak highly of the worst President in history. McCain has hitched his wagon to Bush's sagging star, and America will NOT go for that.
I know the poll numbers give a rough number--but we have not had a contest between McCain. When we do, McCain is toast.
When the Dems finally have their nominee--and all of the issues are fully vetted--our Dem nominee (no matter who it is!) will sink John McCain.
I think we should stop paying attention to those McCain match-up polls--because McCain has not met the full force of a Democratic campaign yet.

1. No way! But it is a good indication how America is thinking. |

I thought the same thing during 2000 when Gore and junior were going at it. I sure didn't feel like Bush had an even chance to win.
I can't see McCain as president of this great country. But then again who knows? What do I know.

in damaging a reputation slime used by a RW kook. Why? Because it is assumed to have more credibility. If your friends say you are "lacking" it is likely to be true.
That is why the head-to-head during the race in informative. Hillary slime won't help her much because of blow-back. BUT IT WILL HELP MCCAIN.

When Hillary says "shame on you" to Obama and it generates lots of news cycles it only helps McCain. A few polls now have McCain ahead of Obama by about 2-4 points, So thank you Hillary for hurting our likely nominees chances in November!!!

4. Those polls are as dependable as the polls have been all through the primaries.... |

Don't bet your mortgage payments on what they say.
The 2008 electorate is an unpredictable combination of old and new voters who will go their own way regardless of what pundits and pollsters believe.
