I know what Lanny Davis says is inconsequential but on GOP Joe
this morning he contended that the idiot who chanted "iron my shirt" at Clinton in New Hampshire was wearing an Obama button. I have seen no account of the incident that made that claim and it has been well established that this was the work of a shock jock for a radio station. Maybe Lanny does not read enough to be informed or maybe he just doesn't care whether what he says is true.
I don't know what is more desperate: having to rely on Lanny Davis as a spokesperson or trying to pin a sophomoric radio stunt on the Obama campaign. The consummate irony is that Davis was hawking his book descrying gotcha politics. Pathetic.

4. I thought that was a radio shock jock's prank. I don't think Obama had anything to do with it.
It's clear that the Republican Party is using commentators to stir up trouble between Democrats. First Drudge and now this. Let's not take the bait.

8. Lanny Davis is a long time Clinton spokesperson, not a
Republican commentator. My post says that it was a shock jock prank . I don't get your point?

11. I misunderstood. If Lanny Davis is speaking for the Clinton campaign, I think it's a mistake.
I can't imagine why the Clinton campaign would attempt to blame that incident on the Obama campaign unless they have proof.

10. Lanny Davis is a frequent defender of and spokesperson for
the Clintons. He is an attorney who has been a long time FOB and FOH.

17. Thanks -just googled his sorry ass
Seems he was a vocal supporter of Joe Loserman in his 06 primary election campaign against Lamont.

When I saw his picture I recognized him. I've seen that dipshit on TV sucking up to repubs.

9. Wikipedia says it was a radio show stunt - The Toucher and Rich Show:
Show crew

Fred Toucher
Rich Shertenlieb - Show host
Crash Clark - 3rd chair, news and sports
B-Real - show producer
Intern Nick - Phone Screener (only on air if he makes an error on the phones, or to play a game)
Adolfo Gonzales, Jr. - Assistant producer

The "Iron My Shirt" Incident

On January 7th, 2008, Nick and Adolfo pranked Senator Hillary Clinton during a campaign speech in New Hampshire. In front of a crowd of supporters, Clinton spoke the words, "Some people think they can bring about change..." Upon the word, "change", Nick and Adolfo, stood up with signs reading, "Iron My Shirt" and proceeded to shout the slogan. Clinton then asked her staffers to "turn the lights on...it's so dark..." She then said, "Ah, the remnants of sexism are alive and well," to applause from the crowd, as the men were led away by Clinton's security. Clinton managed to make light of the incident, asking if anyone in the audience had questions, or still wondered how one irons a shirt.

13. Hillary came out smelling like a rose due to her handling of that incident.
I can't imagine why the Clinton campaign would want to revisit that incident and blame it on Obama.

I never heard of this Lanny character before. I hope that he wasn't speaking for the Clinton campaign.

18. Davis served as special counsel to Bill Clinton during part of his second term.
Maybe you'll recognize the face if not the name:

I don't know whether he serves in some official capacity for the Clinton campaign, but he most definitely makes frequent appearances on TV speaking on her behalf.

I agree with you that HRC came out smelling like a rose after the incident.

If he was speaking on her behalf, then this was a mistake, imo.

15. Lanny Davis lost my respect when he accused the liberal blogosphere of being anti-Semitic
back when he was shilling for Lieberman. All based on a few cherry-picked and badly out-of-context comments. He has no integrity.
