Poll question: Could we ever have a Mr.Smith type president in the near future?
as in Mr.Smith goes to washington a non washington insider congressman who actually cared about the people and put them before profit and big corporations and did what was right even if it wasnt popular.Mr.Smith types have been in congress wellstone and kucinich come to mind but could there ever be room for a President Smith ? sigh

5. John Edwards whole campaign was Mr. Smith Goes to Washington...
I love that movie, and Edwards was definitely running on a Mr. Smith platform.

2. Jimmy Carter seemed a little Mr. Smith-esque
Before my lifetime and I don't know much about his administration..that's just my impression.
