Yes, We Can! Over one million donors for Obama!
I just checked the count at Barack Obama's web site

As of 1:10pm Eastern time, the number of donors to Obama's campaign is 1,003,535!

Let's hear some real changes you YOURSELF have helped to make.

9. Precisely! And yet,
there are those who scoff at the fact that Obama was a community organizer in Chicago.

8. I thanked my matching donor last night
like this..

My match was someone
named Todd in D.C. and here is the message I sent to him..

"Thank you, Todd, for matching my contribution to Obama..I really appreciate the monumental efforts so many are making to elect someone who is as capable as Obama for the leadership we really need." Todd!

12. AND...
...they don't take PayPal.

This is significant because it means a huge number of supporters who...

1) don't use credit cards (like me)...

and

2) are not about to send a check via snail mail (if you don't own a printer, the process is: write the check, address and stamp the envelope, drive to the library, find an unused computer if that's even possible, log on ... it's molasses-slow because 30 other computers are all using the same bandwidth ... print the FEC form, fill it out, and find an outgoing mailbox)...

...and who normally would take two minutes to click the link and make regular PayPal contributions, are not.

Get a fucking PayPal account, Barry! Edwards had one, and it was SO easy to contribute to him that even lazy fucks like me sent our support.

I'm not angry. Not at all. I'm delirious with joy over the fact that Obama is able to collect all this money without needing any of mine. GO BROCKO!

13. maybe his strategy is wait for Pay Pal for McCain?
which could open up a lot of fresh donors for the reasons you mentioned.

hey, this guy thinks ahead. :)

14. That's a very good point!
When I discovered Obama's lack of an online-yet-non-CC method of donating, I wondered how a campaign so savvy and so grassroots-supported could overlook something so obvious.

You're probably right. I'll keep checking his donation page from time to time.
