Richardson Moves Toward An Endorsement, Likes Obama
From Marc Ambinder:

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/02/richardson_moves_toward_an_end.php

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is being coy with his inner circle and hasn't told them who he'll endorse for president. But he's sure said a lot of nice things about Barack Obama.

And Richardson was irate, according to several sources (including the New York Times) when a "senior Clinton official" -- I'm told this was former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright -- called him to pressure him into endorsing Hillary Clinton.

1. Bill C. sure didn't look good in the Super Bowl photo ...
Perhaps he picked up even then that Richardson won't endorse HRC.

5. I think if he takes at least Texas and comes closer than 8 points in Ohio
they will move- I think they are in a holding pattern until then.

6. You may be right
Though a few may go this week to get a decisive win for the nominee.

7. My dream ticket was Gore/Richardson; then Richardson/Obama
But Obama/Richardson would do fine also.

10. I think that Richardson's genuinely ambivalent
He feels a sense of loyalty to Bill Clinton but he and Obama apparently got to be friends during the debates. My feeling is that if he was going to endorse Clinton he'd probably have done it by now. He made Bill Clinton come to watch the Super Bowl with him in order for Clinton to get some face time. Bill C. looked less than happy in the one picture I've seen. Richardson, on the other hands looks like he's having a ball. The kid who couldn't get a date to the prom gets to stand up the prom queen.

He may also be holding out for the best offer or as I said in an earlier thread perhaps the party may need his negotiating skills as an uncommitted high level official negotiating team to talk the loser off down off the ledge--I imagine Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Bill Richardson and perhaps John Edwards as a sort of high level delegation to prevent the party from being torn apart.

Stranger things have happened.
