Clinton Claims She's Been Thinking about Texas for a Year......Sure you were Hillary.

Clinton says she's been thinking about Texas for a year

She told PBS's Judy Woodruff today that she saw the long primary coming.

JUDY WOODRUFF: People look at what's happened in your campaign, Senator Clinton, and they say, what has happened? All of last year you were the front runner, you were the presumed, you were headed for that nomination and then January comes along, boom, Senator Obama starts winning primaries. He has now won eleven in a row. How do you explain what's happened?

MRS. CLINTON: None of this is surprising to me. You know, last spring when I looked at how the race was shaping up, I knew that it would be a close contest and I assumed it would be with Senator Obama and at that time I said we have got to start thinking about Texas, we have to start thinking ahead.

But if she was thinking about Texas, she didn't mention it when she predicted in December the race would end February 5; and the reported confusion inside her camp about the structure of Texas's mixed system also seems to belie that.

1. Why doesn't
she think before she speaks? Doesn't she know about google and the internets?

2. An excellent interview by Judy Woodruff
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 07:35 PM by zulchzulu
That line about thinking about Texas a year ago was enough for me to just laugh out loud. There are a few other tidbits in the interview that are just bald-faced lies.

Woodruff got her to cackle when she asked her about the speech where Hillary made fun of Obama and his supporters. That was classic.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So are you -- but you're suggesting that the United States could end up in a similar situation, if Senator Obama were in the White House?

SEN. HILLARY CLINTON: No, I'm suggesting that this election has to be about the full range of responsibilities that end up in the Oval Office.

I know from my personal experience that nearly everything ends up on the president's desk.

I laughed out loud. Judy Woodruff showed tremendous professionalism by not laughing...

14. Sounds like Bush going into Iraq without understanding the culture or history.

8. She saw it on a map, somewhere.
But Texas, just like Ohio, "doesn't matter".

Here's a big 'get bent' from the Buckeye State.

9. I don't know what Hillary has been smoking, but I want some of that weed!
Hillary said that it would be over on Feb 5. Hillary's penchant for revisionism is getting to be as bad as Bush's.

16. Well, she certainly wasn't thinking about Texas
when she told a Texas Monthly reporter that Texas wouldn't matter in the General Election.

(maybe it would if you fought for it, but that's another fight)

17. Her staff didn't bother to check out the Texas "Two Step" voting until this month!
I believe it was just a couple of weeks ago that her staff was SHOCKED! ! !, SHOCKED ! ! ! , I say, when they finally bothered to check out how the Texas primary/caucus system worked, and learned that the system was weighted toward the urban, pro-Obama big city suburbs, and not the (according to Clinton's unsubstantiated claims) pro-Clinton/Hispanic, more rural parts of the state.

Well, ya know, Senator Clinton, that makes about 11 months since you state you told your crack staff to start thinking about Texas, and when they finally took bothered to check out how the voting system worked. Says something about her lack of administrative/leadership abilities, as well as the poor quality of the individuals she chose to run her campaign. A serious breakdown of communication and follow up.

Bottom line, she's lying again. We already know from multiple staff leaks that Clinton never had a Plan B for campaigning if she didn't wrap it up on Super Tuesday.

One of the most important tasks of President Obama will be to re-establish trust and respect from other world leaders, so that the US can once again exercise some leadership and influence on the world stage. Bald-faced lying in which HRC regularly indulges wouldn't cut it.

20. She's getting as bad that Bush boy about lying and retrofitting.
Either she never thought that, or she never told her staff, or she told them and they completely ignored her.

Any way you slice it, she's either lying or incompetent. AGAIN.
