after the primaries are over and we can all go back to GOP-bashing. I suspect that most of the people who are tough talking about not supporting whatever nominee we have will be turned off of DU altogether. That's sad because there are a lot of smart people.

3. i'm writing procedures so that people in India can take my job

to say I'm not a big fan of globalization is an understatement. NAFTA started this huge sucking sound that has grown exponentially since.... I am an engineer, but those in India earn 1/10th what I do, and to the corporations it is all about the bottom line.

I look at my son. He served in the Navy and now is in college, but I wonder if he will be able to get a job when he graduates next summer. I also wonder if I will be able to keep my job for another 9 years til I can retire.

I am more expensive than the fresh-outs, as I have almost 30 years experience. I was engineer of the quarter a year ago - and still I am very worried about whether I will still be employed next year. My boss says management got talked out of outsourcing our group THIS YEAR because we have a huge deadline this summer.

So the procedures I started in January will train my replacement withint the year...
