"Clinton: Saw Texas shootout with Obama coming"
ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — "Democrat Hillary Clinton told PBS interviewer Judy Woodruff today about a remarkable display of clairvoyance that found the New York senator in the spring of last year planning a Texas showdown with Barack Obama on Tuesday...

None of this is surprising to me,” she told Woodruff. “You know, last spring when I looked at how the race was shaping up, I knew that it would be a close contest and I assumed it would be with Sen. Obama and at that time I said, ‘We have got to start thinking about Texas. We have to start thinking ahead.’”...

Clinton also said she really doesn’t like the front-runner label, even though the primaries in Texas and Ohio on Tuesday will determine whether her Democratic presidential bid will continue."

1. Seems more likely that she didn't take this seriously
Her strategy didn't seem to take her past Super Tuesday.

28. It didn't she expected to have it wrapped up.

If she had expected to be in this kind of fight going into TX she would have had some kind of grass roots strategy.

Hillary says she’ll be Democratic nominee by Feb 5th
December 13, 2007
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is anticipating that she will not have to wait long to become the Democratic presidential nominee, privately telling campaign donors in California that the race "is all going to be over by Feb. 5."

Though the focus of the 2008 presidential campaign is on Iowa and New Hampshire, the states with the earliest contests, Clinton suggested that California's influence might be larger than was commonly believed.

"You've got to realize that people in California will start voting absentee about the time Iowa and New Hampshire happen," the senator from New York said at a closed-door fundraising reception Tuesday evening. "In fact, more people will have voted absentee by the middle of January than will have voted in New Hampshire, Iowa and a lot of other places combined."

On Friday, California absentee ballots began going out to members of the military and others living abroad.

California's remaining absentee ballots will be sent out beginning Jan. 7, one day before the New Hampshire primary and four days after the Iowa precinct caucuses.

California holds its primary Feb. 5, along with 21 other states and American Samoa.

"California, Texas, New York, New Jersey — you've got way more than half the country," Clinton said at the fundraising event at a Sacramento restaurant. "And we're going to be ready, thanks to all of you. We're running a vigorous campaign here in California."

Voters in 22 states will vote after Feb. 5, as will those in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam.

The fundraising reception was closed to the news media, but an audio recording of Clinton's speech was made available to the Los Angeles Times.

Hillary is the clairvoyant one, not the college girl she was talking to.

9. Her statement is an outright "distortion of the truth"...
I can't believe she could "distort the truth" right through her teeth. She said openly and clearly that the race would be over by February 5th. She said it would be "OVER." Of course the media won't question her on this.

18. Is "lie" a synonym for "distortion of truth"?
If it is, then I say she's lying!

Come on, she never ONCE entertained today's scenario. That is why she was so stone-faced and angry-looking at last night's debate. In all of her imaginings--she never once thought that at this point in the process she wouldn't be the Democratic nominee and running for President of the United States in 2008.

27. Look, if you think "lie" is stronger than "distortion of truth"...
then I concede the point and will say that she was both lying AND distorting the truth.

13. So she has had since last Spring to learn about TX
Yet, per the Washington Post, her people JUST discovered how the TX primary/delegate system works and where the majority of the delegates are located in the state a few WEEKS ago "in a closed door meeting".

Stop blowing smoke up Texans' collective asses...you never thought our votes/state would matter..never thought Obama would be beating you this far along in the race. We're not idiots and we are not taking our ability to make a difference for granted---for the first frigging time in a LONG time, our votes finally matter and I believe we will be helping you exit the race here shortly. You just chose not to exit gracefully.

place past Feb. 5th.

Witness the Wisconsin results.

20. Caught in a lie. What a surprise.
She saw this coming? What about that interview she gave in December 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saBU6ux0hsQ) in which she boasted that "it'll all be over" on Super Tuesday?

My God, the gall of that woman is simply jaw-dropping.

I'll have to admit, though -- her comment that she finds being a frontrunner to be burdensome gave me a giggle. Guess she can rest easy now!

How else would explain this strange little world she's created around herself? (Yes, I am serious.) Her behavior as of late is just ... bizarre.
