Remember before BO when all Democrats did was lose and had no passion |
|
i sure do. and that snake oil salesman McAullif who kept us losing is now running Hillary's campaign. I, for one, am sOOOO GLAD Obama broke through and is connecting not only with the voters but people world wide.
P.S. We're still all Democrats, want universal health care, out of Iraq, fair wages, etc. And we're even likely to get those with Obama versus the stalling and equivocation we would see on the issue with the Clintons who would immediately focus all efforts on getting reelected.

1. I LOVED it when he stepped up in McCain's face today over Iraq. |
|
I've been waiting a long time for a good Democrat to smack those bastards down. Obama is taking it to them Chicago style.

7. we NEED to remember the Tom Daschle, Dick Gephardt, Hillary style |
|
of DLC politics and where it got us. NOWHERE! Now, I don't mean to say anything against Bill Clinton as a president. But I do want to remind you all that he never even won a plurality of the vote both times.

|
Oh and I remember a certain current Chairman who was all the rage a few years ago.

8. yep. and that chairman's doing a bang up job too |
|
and the DLC wish to take credit for it. Rahm Immanual didn't win in 2006....Howard Dean and his 50 state strategy did.

11. Dean realized the truth the GOP figured out after '76 |
|
You don't strengthen your party by moving the rhetoric toward the center. You move away from the center and then fight for the middle of the road. Reagan purged most of the moderates and liberals in the party (like Mary Crisp) at the '80 convention.
Howard Dean's 50 state strategy worked because it utilized low cost, effective internet based fundraising, and forced the Republicans to raise money to defend "safe" seats in congress; under McCauliffe, they'd just pool their money and whack away at vulnerable Dems.
BTW, Terry McCauliffe is a big part of why Hillary is losing, IMHO. He has no clue how to win a close race. Hill should have dumped him over the side with the campaign manager.

14. I think Senator Clinton is losing for two reasons: |
|
What worked in NY does not work in a nation the size of this one. She cannot do closer to her events where people get to know what she is actually like.
The other reason is that the media simply hates her. Totally despises her and would be overjoyed if she dropped dead tomorrow. Well for a week, then they would do an about face the next day and claim she was the best thing since sliced bread. The way they have treated her opponent is much like the way they treated her husband back in 1992. And we all know how that turned out.

13. well that is fine and dandy but still...to claim that Senator Obama has |
|
"won" anything for us on the national level is kind of overreaching at the moment.

While it's pretty clear he's about to become our nominee, and I support him in that, he hasn't won anything yet. Not a thing.
