Super delegates are people too...with all the human weaknesses. |
|
Many will act in good faith to mirror the will of their constitutents. Some will have the courage to do what super delegates were supposed to do and vote for the person he or she thinks would be the best President, others will vote to save their own seats and reputations by siding with an apparent winner. They too will make mistakes, be conflicted, be right, be wrong, be safe. It was very, very difficult for John Lewis to switch from Hillary to casing his SD vote for Obama in the convention. He still believes that Hillary would be the better choice for President but is gong with the will of his consituents...something that Ted Kennedy will have neither the courgae or the decency to do. This entire primary system stinks in my mind...that's why Kucinich and Edwards are out. The Dems need to FIX the rules so that in their primaries the votes of Dems count as much as or more than the Republicans or Independents. I would not mind at all if no Republican or Independent who was so registered in the past 24 months would be allowed to vote in Dem primaries.

1. John Lewis, he just isn't what he use to be...maybe it is his age and fatigue... |

He lost his courage to stand his ground....elected to run off chasing his dream.
It happens...we all want to live to see our dreams fulfilled....want to be on the fastest team, hang with winners...sacrifice is easier when your with a money train.:hurts:

2. I couldn't agree with you more. The system is grotesque and undemocratic. |
|
But don't hold your breath waiting for it to be fixed.
Look how our "leaders" have responded to the theft of the past two presidential elections. And what do you think they'll do if the third is stolen? My guess: nothing. We wouldn't want to upset the Republicans by being argumentative.
