I was surprised there are so many "leaning" ie:purple states Interesting if you like to look at the odds/options http://www.270towin.com/2008_polls/mccain_obama/

4. I seriously doubt Oregon, Massachusetts, or Florida will be swing states |
|
Oregon and Massachusetts are blue, and Florida will go red unless there is a total blowout.
I can definitely see Wisconsin, New Mexico, Missouri, Ohio, and Pennsylvania being the battlegrounds initially. But I think both Ohio and Pennsylvania will quickly revert to the Dems column. And that leaves the repubs with an impossible to win situation.

Although the owner of the site is a conservative, he has liberal input from folks who can start their own threads. His electoral prediction in 2004 was the most accurate I've seen. Check out his test run for this election. http://www.federalreview.com/2008/02/xxxxxx-2-xxxxxx-4-xxxxxx-8-xxxxxx-12.htmedit for spelling

Add NJ to that map, and the Dem gets 270. We win!

6. I'll give 'em FL because I think he'll choose Crist as his VP... |
|
...and even if he doesn't, I don't think we can take it. But if that map stands, all Obama (or Hillary) would need is PA, OR, & WI, and of course MA. That right there is 289, over the top. That's without even OH. If only!

10. Statistics can be skewed to fit anyone's scenario. I haven't heard any McCain |

buzz like I've heard Obama buzz. They could steal it again but that's all they could do. If I were a mod, I'd lock this thread. If I were you I'd reconsider posting this neo-con propaganda. It's even more negative than the screaming idiots I've heard around here lately.

15. That's an Obama landslide, but there's a lot of time left until |
|
the election. Funny to see MA, PA, and OR swing states. Funny to see VA, MO, CO, and NV winnable. Funny to see MN be solid blue.

AZ = leaning red???? McCain's home state where he wins senator seats with 70% and never even campaigns? Did I mention it's also a huge NRA state?
CO = blue ??? The centroid of the NRA? Wait until McCain unleashes Obama's gun control past on the blues of CO ... LOL
CA = strong blue? Obama had better figure out a way to get the hispanic vote or he's in deep trouble in CA ... not to mention the miitary vote and the red necks who now control several areas of the state ... San Diego, Orange County, most of Central and San Joaquin valleys ... 'Amnesty' John is gonna be strong in CA and IMHO -- he turns CA red.
FL = swing? Bull - FL is a strong red state and will remain a strong red state.
VA = blue? Ya ... the largest concentration of military in the country (probably the world) and they're gonna vote for Obama who doesn't even know there are Al-Quida in Iraq over a war-time hero?
I was going to go through most of the map but I have to stop here ... it's so laughable there is little use in even reading it ... let alone critiqing it. ROTFLMAO.

20. Your CA analysis misses a major point... |
|
The Republicans cost themselves much of the Hispanic bloc in 2006, and Hispanics here in CA don't seem to have forgiven them yet. I don't see CA going Red anytime soon. But I agree otherwise - MA a SWING state? AZ LEANING red? IL LEANING blue? OH & PA I can see as swing states, but not OR - reliably blue there. MO, according to my aunt, could go blue for Obama (McCaskill's a HUGE Obama fan), but it would be iffy for Clinton. KS could actually turn blue - Sebelius is a major Obama supporter as well.
I expect 271 -261, Obama.
