Clinton To Attend Funeral Of Dallas Officer Killed In Motorcade
Dallas -- Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to attend Friday's funeral for the Dallas police officer who died after crashing his motorcycle in her motorcade last week.

Senior Cpl. Victor Lozada Tirado was helping escort the Democratic presidential candidate to a campaign rally Feb. 22 in Dallas.

Authorities said Lozada was in the rear of the motorcade when he crashed into a concrete barrier.

Following the service, Hillary Clinton is scheduled to attend rallies in Waco and San Antonio.

I think this is a classy thing for her to do.

21. Yes, it is.
Given the tone of the responses so far, perhaps DU is getting classier.

10. Since I inserted that word into the conversation
I'll answer. I found it to be a kind action and not one that she had to do. It's actually one that many would not have done due to the very busy schedules they're currently keeping.

To me it went beyond decent, which a simple spray of flowers and a note would have been, to classy.

13. PLEASE let's not turn this into an ugly thread
Edited on Thu Feb-28-08 11:14 PM by rainbow4321
NOT that the OP is trying to do that but I kinda get a cringing feeling about where this thread could go.

His death has saddened the heart of people in the Dallas area who didn't even know him...my teenage daughter told me the other night that she has gone to the same school with his daughter since elementary school..they have mutual friends now in high school and my daughter was almost in tears/getting chills up her spine when she relayed to me how she learned at school this week that the fallen officer was the girl's father.
She called me from the mall tonight to tell me that she ran into one of those mutual friends at the store and wanted to spend time with her friend as the friend picked out clothes to attend the funeral tomorrow...

14. That is the right thing to do.
The same thing happened in a Bush motorcade - I'm sure he wouldn't have dreamed of atttending the funeral. I wonder if he even sent a card.

19. That is a good and appropriate thing to do.......
I remember hearing from someone here that Obama had attended the memorial for the College students who were killed at NIU tragically a couple of weeks ago. He requested that it not be publicized. He also chose not to speak at the memorial service, but was sitted on the stage along with Sen. Durbin.
