My Prediction: Richardson endorses Hillary before March 4th
My reasoning:

Richardson dropped out right before the first election that he would have finally done well in, after the polls were already showing that the odds that most of the Hispanic voters would vote Hillary, especially with Richardson out of the way.

The Clinton's have done too much for Richardson in his political life. He was named U.N. Embassador by Bill Clinton. Also named Secretary of Energy by Bill Clinton....which led to his ability to run for Governor of New Mexico. Plus he was in charge of the Democratic convention in 2004, grace to then DNC Chairman, Terry McCauliffe, Clinton confidente....and so I don't believe him to be such an independent thinker when it comes to the Clintons.

No matter how close, Hillary did win New Mexico.

So please Obama supporters, don't hold your breath on this one, or else, you will be disappointed.

7. I think that past favors mean nothing to him and thatt he will
endorse the person he thinks will win - so that he can get a cabinet position- and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

3. The reason he won't.... He knows he's Obama's first choice for VP....
If he was going to endorse Hillary, he would have done so before now. The fact that such a close "friend of the Clintons" has not endorsed her yet speaks VOLUMES.

He will either endorse Obama or nobody. He wants to be VP. He knows Obama will offer it. That's why he'll either stay quiet or endorse Obama.

11. He's also at the top of the list for Hillary, as well.
He's not made an enemy of either, and won't, no matter who he endorses.

A genuine diplomat.

5. I'm not sure FrenchieCat, if he was going to do it why didn't he endorse her when she needed it?

9. Some time around Super Tuesday would have been good
She might not have lost 11 straight after that. Then again, she may still have. Who knows how these endorsements affect voters?

6. I don't think you can assume anything....
Bill Richardson will decide based on what he knows, and he knows more about nuclear issues than just about anyone. He won't trade a vote for consideration, because no matter who WINS, he will be an asset in some major position.

The race is very nearly over. Clinton needs multiple miracles, and it will not happen...

13. I'd say it depends on
how much he really cares for our country. I don't really know that much about him..if he's into that whole "loyalty above anything" or he's using his head.

I would think an endorsement before March 4th for hilary would be good for some Hispanic voters who are undecideds.

We'll find out soon.

14. Nah, I have to disagree with ya FrenchieCat. . .

. . .bearded Richardson 2008=bearded Gore 2004

The beards symbolize that both men have had an epiphany moment realizing the DLC sucks.

Beard=break away from the DLC.

So bye-bye, Billary!

15. just saw this on slate which shows that the markets took a jump
today on Richardson endorsing Obama to try and get positioning for VP

http://slate.com/blogs/blogs/trailhead/Default.aspx
The Bill Richardson Bump
The oddly fickle (and spookily accurate) political-futures markets have made some bizarre predictions. Anyone betting against Ron Paul or Al Gore to become president stood to make a lot of money. There was also a big Giuliani-for-VP upswing last week, for no apparent reason.

In the same tradition, a friend points out that today around noon, the Bill Richardson for Vice President stock doubled on InTrade—and it’s unclear why. Buzz about a potential Richardson endorsement has been building for the past week. If Richardson endorses Obama and Obama does better than expected among Texas Latinos, the New Mexico governor could plausibly take some credit.

But nothing particularly game-changing has happened today—has it? Maybe some insider knowledge has leaked to traders but not to the rest of us? (Shouldn’t insider trading be against the rules, anyway?)

Who knows, maybe Richardson himself just bought up a bunch of shares and plans to endorse.

19. I think if Richardson was going to endorse Clinton, he would have prior to Super Tuesday.
I just don't see why he'd wait, when the golden opportunity was prior to Super Tuesday -- when he met Bill. Clinton was still a frontrunner then and it would have made far more sense than endorsing right now.

I'm not saying I would be surprised if he endorsed her, but I just don't see why he would wait almost an entire month before doing so, especially now that it looks like she's DOA.

20. Who freakin' cares about Richardson's endorsement?
His endorsement doesn't amount to a hill of squat! I live in NM and his influence here is highly overrated.
