Hillary Clinton is going to win the primary and the presidency.
I know that is not the conventional wisdom around here. But I know that it is true.
We can either continue the slide into fascism or jolt back onto the right track.
I know that Hillary is the only candidate who will be able to save this county - and I know that she will win.

Well we know why you think he is not electable......
and like Castro/Castro, you wish for us Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton.

Many of us ain't buying it. Sorry Bud!

Barack Obama is attracting jaw-dropping crowds at stop after stop. Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton would be thrilled with her own big turnouts except that his are so much bigger.

Obama crowds overwhelm organizers
Organizers of Barack Obama's Iowa campaign were forced to move today's Ames rally to a larger venue due to the larger-than-expected interest in the Democrat Presidential hopeful.

Obama crowds in Houston
Four hours and counting before his first Houston appearance, Barack Obama was already packing them in.
At 4 p.m., more than 500 people — a mixed crowd of African Americans, young Hispanics and whites — were lined up outside the Toyota Center, spilling into downtown streets, for an expected 8 p.m. appearance.

Despite falling snow and slippery roads the other night, it was standing-room only for HRC's campaign speech and town-meeting in St. Clairsville OH . . . but . . . tens of thousands of stay-at-home citizens in the upper Ohio Valley's tri-state area (Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia) were also in attendance, thanks to the magic of a live television broadcast from WTOV-9 in Steubenville OH.

We are already there. She nor any other "sElected" leader will change that fact. We neglected our liberty and freedom to death. It won't come back by any "other" means... It won't be willingly handed back to the people. Slavery is a weak negotiating position to be in... and we are there brothers and sisters. You may think we can turn this ship around but we've already breached the falls - It's a race to the bottom for about 98% of us... happy landings.

The CLINTONs are the Democratic establishment and have been since 1992. Bill Clinton's inane attempt to call Obama the establishment candidate is laughable. After all isn't the DL in DLC - Democratic Leadership and isn't HRC in their leadership? Isn't Bill Clinton the former President? Haven't they fought any other faction whenever it has had some power?

How Barack Obama played the race card and blamed Hillary Clinton.

After several weeks of swooning, news reports are finally being filed about the gap between Senator Barack Obama's promises of a pure, soul-cleansing "new" politics and the calculated, deeply dishonest conduct of his actually-existing campaign. But it remains to be seen whether the latest ploy by the Obama camp--over allegations about the circulation of a photograph of Obama in ceremonial Somali dress--will be exposed by the press as the manipulative illusion that it is.

Most of the recent correctives have concerned outrageously deceptive advertisements approved and released by Obama's campaign. First, in Iowa, the Obama camp aired radio ads patterned on the notorious "Harry and Louise" Republican propaganda from 1993, charging falsely that Senator Hillary Clinton's health care proposal would "force those who cannot afford health insurance to buy it, punishing those who won't fall in line." In subsequent primary and caucus campaigns, the Obama campaign sent out millions of mailers, also featuring the "Harry and Louise" motif, falsely claiming that Clinton favored "punishing families who can't afford health care in the first place." A few bloggers and columnists, notably Paul Krugman in The New York Times, described the ads as distorting, but the national press corps mainly ignored them--until Clinton herself, seeing the fraudulent mailers reappear in Ohio over the past weekend, publicly denounced them.

The Obama mass mailings also attempt to appeal to Ohio's labor vote by claiming that Clinton believed that the North American Free Trade Agreement, signed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, was a "'boon' to our economy." More falsehood: In fact, Clinton had not said that; Newsday originally applied the word "boon" and has now noted the Obama campaign's distortion. In this campaign, Clinton has called for a moratorium on all trade agreements until they are made consistent with labor and environmental standards--and account for the effect on jobs in the United States. Obama makes a big deal about how Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. But he fails to mention that, within the councils of her husband's administration, Hillary Clinton was a skeptic of free trade agreements, and as a senator and candidate she has said that NAFTA contained flaws that need to be rectified. Ignoring all that, the Obama flyer features an alarming photograph of closed plant gates, having no connection to any action of Senator Clinton's, as well as the dubious quotation about her from Newsday in 2006. Newsday has criticized "Obama's use of the quotation" as "misleading ... an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try and win an office." Obama, without retracting the mailing (and while playing to protectionist sentiment in the party) said only that he would have his staff look into the matter--long after the ad has done its dirty work.

Misleading propaganda is hardly new in American politics --although the adoption of techniques reminiscent of past Republican and special-interest hit jobs, right down to a retread of the fictional couple, seems strangely at odds with a campaign that proclaims it will redeem the country from precisely these sorts of divisive and manipulative tactics. As insidious as these tactics are, though, the Obama campaign's most effective gambits have been far more egregious and dangerous than the hypocritical deployment of deceptive and disingenuous attack ads. To a large degree, the campaign's strategists turned the primary and caucus race to their advantage when they deliberately, falsely, and successfully portrayed Clinton and her campaign as unscrupulous race-baiters--a campaign-within-the-campaign in which the worked-up flap over the Somali costume photograph is but the latest episode. While promoting Obama as a "post-racial" figure, his campaign has purposefully polluted the contest with a new strain of what historically has been the most toxic poison in American politics.

More than any other maneuver, this one has brought Clinton into disrepute with important portions of the Democratic Party. A review of what actually happened shows that the charges that the Clintons played the "race card" were not simply false; they were deliberately manufactured by the Obama camp and trumpeted by a credulous and/or compliant press corps in order to strip away her once formidable majority among black voters and to outrage affluent, college-educated white liberals as well as college students. The Clinton campaign, in fact, has not racialized the campaign, and never had any reason to do so. Rather the Obama campaign and its supporters, well-prepared to play the "race-baiter card" before the primaries began, launched it with a vengeance when Obama ran into dire straits after his losses in New Hampshire and Nevada--and thereby created a campaign myth that has turned into an incontrovertible truth among political pundits, reporters, and various Obama supporters. This development is the latest sad commentary on the malign power of the press, hyping its own favorites and tearing down those it dislikes, to create pseudo-scandals of the sort that hounded Al Gore during the 2000 campaign. It is also a commentary on how race can make American politics go haywire. Above all, it is a commentary on the cutthroat, fraudulent politics that lie at the foundation of Obama's supposedly uplifting campaign.

So, let's be a little more restrained about what we think we know about the future.

If you know that she's the best candidate, good for you, she is a Democrat and saying you think she is the best should be welcome around here.

Saying you know she is going to win is a prediction and none of us knows the future.

I've long said there are many good things about Clinton and that she's smart and competent. Unlike the robotic, programmed and mindless Hillary supporters (not all of them, but if the shoe fits...) I'll gladly vote for Clinton if she's the nominee. The OP and people like YOU are the ones that see things in simple minded terms and can't deal with the probability that Clinton is going to lose. Thank god, I'm not as stupid as.... well, you know.

The rest of the us will be glad that Obama is President of the rest of The United States.

108. What do you base it on?
What do you think happens if she loses TX or OH? Do you even understand that that's a distinct possibility? Do you know by how many pledged delegates she trails? Do you know that the SD gap has been closing swiftly? Are you aware that PA is now just about tied? Where does she make up the pledged delegates? Do you know which states come after Tuesday? Is there any LOGIC behind your conviction or is it simply faith based?

110. Hillary can not save anytrhing
It was the politics of the last 28 years, in which Hillary is deely entrenched in, is what got us in to the situation we are in today. She once said in a campaign speach that "it took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush". Well the only thing that got us was another Bush. Jlake you know the definition of insanity is doing the samething over and over again and expecting a differnt result. Electing Hillary is ask for more Bush in 2016.
Hillary isn't for the people as much as she claims to be. She supported NAFTA, she voted for the Iraq War Resolution, the bankrupcy bill and her healthcare package rewards the insurance companies for years of unscruplous practices which led to the healthcare crises of today.
I'm not saying the Obama is the best candidate, Dennis Kucinich was, but between the two he is the better choice. If anything you should be jumping on Hillary for waiting to run in 2008 instead of running in 2004 when there was a huge support of a Hillary Clinton Presidency. She would have defeated Kerry in the primary and Bush in the GE.

135. I am not sure that she would have defeated Kerry in the primaries - but I do know that she would
have lost to Bush. The key to 2004 was national security credentials. Kerry's far exceed HRC's - and I am not speaking about Vietnam. Kerry was one of the few people in government who understood the threat of non-state terrorism in the 1990s per comments made by Richard Clarke in 2004. He was the one who fought against everyone on BCCI and he wrote a book that is still a great description of the way that criminal networks, including drug rings and terrorists have become global necessitating new ways to fight them using international cooperations.

What Kerry had from Vietnam was that it showed him to be a person of character and integrity, who was smart enough to use all the information available and devise an innovative way to respond to attacks that would very likely have killed some of his men otherwise. His Senate hearings showed a willingness to speak truth to power, knowing it could destroy any political career. Additionally, in addition to speaking about ending the war and changing the wrong headed foreign policy behind it, he spoke eloquently about the need to not abandon the veterans - speaking of horrors in the lack of medical treatment that sound like the Walter Reed stuff. (It would have been a piece of cake for the Republicans to dredge up all the Clintons are against the military stuff from the 1990s. Kerry never wrote in a snarky letter "some people loathe the military" (yes, I know that was Bill not HRC). By November, most people who ever would have voted for Kerry and many who never would knew the SBVT were liars.)

McAuliffe, Carville and Begala and others have all written books that magnify the flaws of Kerry's campaign. I suspect that these accounts will be taken with a giant grain of salt in the future. The campaign that HRC has run for the nomination is nowhere near Kerry's excellent primary campaign. Even his general election run, harmed by insiders brought in for the General Election who whined to the media incessantly that he was deviating from Bill Clinton's advice will look great compared to her mess of a primary run. Even if she pulls it out, it will be after destroying an incredible amount of goodwill for the Clintons that Democrats had going into this.

So fucking what if they will be dissapointed!????I WILL BE TOO if HIllary doesn't win this.Hillary is beloved and we want her probably more than Obama's people want him!

THE math says Hillary needs to win big in Texas and Ohio to stand a chance of moving forward.

Here's the trends in Texas:

She's not winning big. She's not winning at all.

Here's the trends in Ohio:

She's winning, but just barely.

No big wins, no nomination.

It ain't over yet, but don't buy your plane tickets to the inauguration.

232. You do realize that she is the candidate that made these...
following statements.

She always talks about her experience being why she is THE ONE, but take a look at her speaking leading us into a war 5 years ago...

"And perhaps my decision is influenced by my eight years of experience on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue in the White House watching my husband deal with serious challenges to our nation."

She also said that she didn't want war or think bush would use her vote to go to war.

"I want this President, or any future President, to be in the strongest possible position to lead our country in the United Nations or in war. Secondly, I want to insure that Saddam Hussein makes no mistake about our national unity and for our support for the President's efforts to wage America's war against terrorists and weapons of mass destruction."

And here her decision did exactly what she accused Saddam of doing.

"It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."

How come so many people are delusional and cant see the reality of who she is and who she shares agendas with, wake up before its too late for our children...PLEASE!

No way in hell any intelligent, informed person would want that person to take control of our childrens future.

233. Actually both could do the job
I mean I know you are a fanatic for all things Hillary, but your threads seem to be filled with less facts than speculation. You could make good arguments for or against Hillary, and for or against Obama as the first choice with a little more effort. But mostly, I see flame bait for the sake of flame bait.

What's the point?

4837131, In Texas, Clinton Gets Girl Power
Posted by sueragingroz on Sat Mar-01-08 05:39 PM

Amy Chozick reports on the presidential race from Dallas.

Sen. Hillary Clinton is hoping some good old-fashioned girl power can help her in the pivotal contests in Ohio and Texas on Tuesday.

Today in San Antonio Clinton stopped by a downtown hotel for a quick fund-raiser before traveling to Fort Worth and Dallas for rallies. The donors, who contributed an average of $250 and brought in roughly $200,000, got a surprise visit from feminist icon Gloria Steinem.

The activist and founder of Ms. magazine gave a nod to the few men in the audience promising to give them protection from the “upcoming revolution.” She said there are more women who identify as feminists than as Republicans.

She defended Clinton’s vote to authorize the war in Iraq, saying both former presidential nominees John Edwards and Sen. Joseph Biden voted the same way and were not attacked for it. Steinem said the storm of criticism Clinton has received from Sen. Barack Obama and others over her vote is a “double standard.”

Steinem recounted the history of South Texas and the fighting between the Spanish and the Native Americans. “Peace came in the form of a woman,” she said, implying that it can come again with Clinton.

It was a “you-go-girl” kind of day for Clinton, who also picked up the endorsement of “Desperate Housewives” star and native Texan Eva Longoria Parker and “Working Girl” star Melanie Griffith. The two actresses will be joining Clinton in Texas on Monday as she holds a live interactive “town hall” during which voters across Texas can ask questions via satellite.

and the country is better off for it. We don't need any more Repubs in the WH, even ones who are nominally Dems.

244. There is no serious way that you can argue that Obama is to HRC's RIGHT.
It's not being Republican to bring new voters in.

HRC's biggest supporters don't really want her to win anyway. They want here to be the next designated loser until they can impose another right-winger like her husband as the nominee.
