Clinton Camp: If Obama does not win all states on March 4; it means Dems are having second thoughts
To: Interested Parties

From: The Clinton Campaign

Date: Friday, February 29, 2008

RE: Obama Must-Wins

The media has anointed Barack Obama the presumptive nominee and he’s playing the part.

With an eleven state winning streak coming out of February, Senator Obama is riding a surge of momentum that has enabled him to pour unprecedented resources into Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The Obama campaign and its allies are outspending us two to one in paid media and have sent more staff into the March 4 states. In fact, when all is totaled, Senator Obama and his allies have outspent Senator Clinton by a margin of $18.4 million to $9.2 million on advertising in the four states that are voting next Tuesday.

Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches.

If he cannot win all of these states with all this effort, there’s a problem.

Should Senator Obama fail to score decisive victories with all of the resources and effort he is bringing to bear, the message will be clear:

Democrats, the majority of whom have favored Hillary in the primary contests held to date, have their doubts about Senator Obama and are having second thoughts about him as a prospective standard-bearer.

1. OMG! Now it has nothing to do with how the Clinton camp does,
but puts all the pressure on Obama? OK, then, bring it on!

They are just pathetic.

4. It just goes to show us just why the Obama groups want
Hillary to drop....because he can't get a real, clear victory...He never has except with Hawaii.

7. Do you ever listen to yourself? He's won the past 11 primaries
convincingly. The worst he's done is a, what, 18-19% lead? You're really deluding yourself, but enjoy. 5 more days...

25. I know his has been missed but Obama has a 25 state/territory winning streak not 11
While everyone has had shifting numbers as to what constitutes a "win", sometimes they say its a win or loss because of percentage of votes, ( which was a more complicated measure when there were multiple candidates ) and then there were those that measure delegates plus pre-pledged super delegates ( which we know Ms Clinton leads still in one part of that equation, but not the combined total any longer ) and others have said it was the popular vote number which has also been eclipsed. With all these shifting measures of winning/losing there has been one true measure on that has not been diluted by dropouts of candidates or shifting goalposts or false measures.

That one measure has been earned delegates, thats what the election measures and decides and that is what you need to win period and on that number increase, on that measure Mr Obama is not just on an 11 state winning streak but is literally undefeated 25/0

In every contest he has taken more delegates than any candidate, even in Nevada which the media touted as a Ms Clinton win he gained a delegate more than anyone.

So while alot of people have touted and trumpeted a winning streak of 11 states Mr Obama is actually on an undefeated 25/0 streak which likely will not be upset by Tuesday loss in Rhode Island.

My word problem was wrong but the equation was correct. He has not won every state gain but every days net gain.

Stay in and then steal with it FL/MI and superdelegates.

10. Let's not forget she not only may attempt to steal the delegates
from Fl and MI but disenfrancise convention (caucus)goers in Texas. Her new mantra should be: WIN AT ANY COST! Sometimes I think HRC is a republican in Democratic clothing who will de-base her party so that the republicans can capitalize on Democratic election process "failures".

This new tactic to put it all on Obama is yet another desperate act. Blowback is going to hit her...again.

5. All states?
So if Obama takes OH, TX, and VT which seems quite likely, but then loses RI, its second thoughts? That is truly an "only the states that vote for Clinton count" policy.

14. this really is patheti and desperate and it make a complete
hypocrite out of her. First it was we're going to win big in Texas and OH. Then it was we're going to win TX and OH. After that it was we're going to win OH. Now it's he has to sweep all four states by large margins to be considered a viable candidate. The Clinton campaign sure does have a lot of gall to not only move her goal posts but to set his.

It's not going to fly. She's on her way to becoming a laughing stock, and with this type of crap, she deserves every derisive chuckle.

It's clear that the Clinton camp expects to lose everywhere but little Rhody. Man, did Grantcart call that accurately with his satirical little piece.

Just wow.

16. I think the fact that she she hasn't won a contest since, when, 2007? (practically) ... shows
... that Democrats are having second, and third, and fourth thoughts about HER.

Awfully convenient that Obama now HAS to win ALL of the primaries in upcoming states that she just happens to (until lately at least) poll strongly in.

28. Paging George Orwell!
If Obama wins or does well in the states that were supposed to be Clinton's it still doesn't mean a thing. He's got to sweep the board or it means people aren't so sure about him.

Right...cause winning by a small margin in some of the states you were supposed to take in a walk after getting creamed north, south, east and west for a solid month...that's exceeding expectations. My head hurts....

42. I think she's ill.
It's becoming increasingly clear that Hillary is delusional and almost certainly in the throes of a mental, emotional breakdown.

It's clear to everyone with the tiniest amount of common sense that her failure in this campaign has severely damaged her psyche and proved that she would never in a million years of had the mental strength to successfully preside over the United States Of America. Indeed, it's apparent that she would have been more of a risk than current incumbent George W. Bush. A vote for her from now on is one born out of massive, massive irresponsibility.
