Co-host of ABC's The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that Barack Obama's life may be in danger because of the "underlying racist tone in this country."

The panel on ABC's The View focused some time on Thursday's show on the possibility of Barack Obama being the target of an assassination attempt and what effect that should have on how people view his possible vice presidential choices.

"There's a fear that because maybe there's an underlying racist tone in this country, that maybe Barack's life would be in danger and therefore who his vice presidential running mate would be is someone that we should really look at," said Hasselback.

27. She didn't. I watched the show. She just did her usual thing -

interrupt to inject that into the conversation. The original conversation was between Whoopi, Joy and Sherri, all of whom expressed worry about the prospect. Elizabeth rarely has an original thought; her primary mission seems to be to interrupt any conversation to inject right-wing hypocrisy,stupidity, intolerance, and bigotry into it regardless of the topic being discussed. I think that is her true purpose on the show.
