Mccain winning the nomination because W has destroyed the republican party?
they hate mccain.
and yet he's the best they can field?

and now republicans are crossing over for obama.. im starting to get the idea thier party is going critical.

5. Yea I don't know whether to hopefull or skeptical.
I do know this...I go on a weekend walk with 5-6 other people two of them Republican and I don't know if I can give it enough empahsis.......they absolutely hate McCain (they listen to Rush) and they say he is liberal...tooo liberal...and I had to hold my toungue.

If nothing else, they can count on his military service and opinions on Iraq/Iran to draw in votes from the warhawks.

Romney was mega-fake, Huckabee is a nutjob (even for the GOP), etc, etc.

An old punch-drunk fighter who was reduced to sucking up to shrub is all they have left.

7. The Bushurian Candidate

Make no doubt about it, McCain is Bush's candidate. The Bush people kept his hopes alive behind the scenes as McCain was practically broke and fairly unpopular amongst the "base".

After watching the way McCain has grovelled and become servile after the smearfest that Bush dragged him through, it makes me wonder about how John McCain responded to his confinement in Hanoi.
