Come on Obama people, man your Battle stations! Hillary DUers are winning the Headline Wars on GDP!
Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 11:04 PM by FrenchieCat
And Hillary supporters are not being nice about it....
they are calling Obama Liar, and talking about "This one is for the Girls" while calling anything uttered from an Obama supporter as sexist. Hillary supporters are following the Kitchen Sink Strategy, and the "If you repeat a lie long enough, it can seem like the truth" mantra.

Yes, Hillary supporters here at DU are diligently keeping negative threads that they started about Obama kicked up and Recommended and making sure that the perception is that there is a lot of life left in that campaign. They are, in fact, fighting for their very own survival......

And so.....

Obama supporters, we must do better.
We are very weak right now in GDP, and I say, step it up!

Stop calling for Unity and offering to sing Kumbaya! Stop saying nice stuff about Hillary, all the while, she continues to throw whatever is left at our candidate.

Please start posting negativity about Hillary Clinton, documented or made up, doesn't matter....just do it consistently and brutaly. Keep these threads recommended and kicked so that they can float up to other pages that matter much more than GDP.

We cannot allow Hillary Clinton and her Cult Fans to win this war of DU headlines.....because that is what counts in the end....and what will win both Texas and Ohio (of course you are allowed time off tomorrow to make your calls in support of Obama to Texas and Ohio by attending a MoveOn party)....but after that, you must come back and go read page 2 and 3 and 4 of DU GPD and kick up all negative Hillary threads, and all Positive Obama threads and do it consistently and systematically.

So, do you understand OBama Supporters?
These elections are about nothing but about perception and propaganda, and right now the Hillary supporters are kicking our collective asses. We need to accept this challenge, and we need to remain as negative and as hateful as possible, without respise until Tuesday. Remember that until we can actually win the nomination, we cannot beat the politics of hate and division and fear. We must scream and scratch louder than the opponent. Scorch earth tactics is our duty until the opponent falls.

Yes, I am serious.

Now man your battle station, and do not take any prisoners.

:patriot:

NOW GET TO WORK!

Edited to add....***this post is meant to be invoke ridicule and sarcasm, as I got tired of reading all of the "OBAMA LIED" posts about Obama from Hillary supporters.....because to be sure, I don't believe that DU headlines will win the day--

For those who took this post seriously, well, I'm sorry if I have offended your "sensibilities"....but since Hillary supporters who post tripe don't offend those same sensibilities, I can't really feel badly for you****

71. But NOTHING done on DU is going to effect anything.
People who come here have already made up their minds, and very few will have the opportunity to actually cast a vote in Texas, Ohio, or Rhode Island.

Let the Hillary crowd WIN the GD-P "WAR" (using your frame) for the next couple of days for what that is worth.
It is ALL they have, and THAT will be gone on the 5th.
The pathetic flailing, desperation, and grasping at imaginary straws is amusing to just quietly observe.

If you want to do something useful for Obama, stop wasting your time here, and sign up for a phone bank, do some fund raising or something that may actually have a small impact.

Nothing is really gained or lost with the thread wars here. I don't really care if Hillar supporters get more antagonizing threads started here; I think a lot of it stems from frustration.

11. It's called grasping for straws
I just saw a thread about Hillary's surge from the ARG poll. I though maybe she had pulled ahead in Texas by something like 8 or 10 points or something.

They were excited about a 3% uptick for Hillary which has her TIED with Obama. She needs to win big for the delegates.

I am so bored with Hillary. I listened to a whole speech today and it was BORING. She sounds like a broken record. And she sounded tired.

However I am tired and cannot find anything funny about Clinton supporters going nuts and destroying Clinton's political future.

It is not funny it is sad. And it is equally for their sake that I hope this fucking ends after this primary.

I've been begging people to stay civil, not that it seems to be making any difference. Eventually we will have to get behind the nominee if we want to beat McCain, and it will be a whole lot easier if we don't have to rebuild from the scorched earth of a vicious primary.

Yes, there is some disgusting shit coming down from a few of the nastiest Hillary supporters. The way to deal with them is to refute their bullshit with facts, not read their posts at all, put them on Ignore, or just turn off the computer. Nobody's mind will be changed by flinging crap at them. And certainly Obama's supporters will not benefit him at all if they play that same repulsive game of making shit up.

Anyhow, "winning" on DU is meaningless. It's just a fucking Internet message board, fercripessake.

that which ever one is nominated and elected, he/she will make America and the world proud. I think it would be a sinking feeling if a rethug got into the white house. I remember in 2004 when Bush got into power, I was in a daze asking myself, what were Americans thinking! Tried to find an avenue to understand why that happenend, I came across Daily Koff, and a few other sites and I finally found here, lurked for a while and then joined. Hope your candidate wins, even though am backing Senator Obama, it is only literal.

What is the point of doing this? Man your battle stations? Really? Against fellow Democrats. I think some people really need to back away from the keyboard and reexamine whom we're really fighting here -- it sure as hell is not Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. It's pathetic that people would invest so much time and energy into attacking fellow Democrats, rather than preparing an arsenal of attacks against John McCain and the Republicans for the fall. This would be time well-spent. The shit the OP posted serves to do nothing but divide and stir up animosity.

Their aim seems to be destroying the Democrats ... that's all Obama-hating does at this point. It weakens

Instead of spreading misinformation(which is not a comment as to the type of obama supporters here, but rather to address the suggestion in the OP) I'd rather if "our" posters man their volunteer stations across this country, to help win the democratic primary. (even if your state has already voted, I'd bet there are still ways to help via phone banking etc. if you contact your local headquarters) Now if there are factual things to bring up and debate, that's fine to draw the contrasts, but lets not get "rovian". I don't believe that's the message obama wants to present to voters, and I don't think his supporters should present that either (if they fully believe in it)
Just one newbies opinion :patriot:

47. I rarely see that being said....to tell the truth.
The thing about Obama supporters is that they remember New Hamsphire.

Obama supporters know that it ain't over till all is said and done. We know that we have never supported the inevitable candidate.

We understand that even if our candidate raises 15 million more in a month than your candidate, that it is your candidate that will reap benefits from the headline simply for having raise any money at all.

We also know that if we don't win Texas and Ohio by a comfortable margin, then the fact that our candidate will not be recognized for having reduced double digits advantage in just weeks to "too close to call".

We know that if our guy would have placed 3rd in Iowa, we wouldn't be advocating for him this very minute, because he would no longer be in the race.

We know that winning 11 states in a row means not that much.

We know already that we back the insurgent who hasn't taking money from pacs and lobbyists....and so, the powers are against us.

We know that Hillary Clinton's name has been part of the lexicon since a long time ago.

In other words, we know that our candidate must be twice as good to get the same level of recognition as your candidate.

Yes, we know this.

53. What you clearly DON'T know
is that your candidate has had a virtual free ride from the right wing media until very recently. The fact that they are finally starting to leak Obama's "problems" is why Hillary's numbers are going up. The fascists are starting to tell the truth about Obama, finally. Guess they thought he had it all sewed up and they would look manipulative, lol, if they waited until after they forced Hillary out to start exposing the dirt. Maybe they miscalculated a bit, maybe not. But the fact is that all you love sick fools will be facing reality very, very soon. The fascist pig media is going to politically eviscerate Obama as soon as he's in the clear for the nomination. WAKE UP.

Or, maybe the Obama threads are the only place they can get their fill of drama. Just checked out a pro-Hillary thread, and half the posts on it were replaced by "ignored". I can't wait to get back to some semblance of amity around here. Some of this stuff is way over the top.

and the vast majority of the Hillary camp will embrace Obama when it finally is (after a short period of sadness based upon the time and effort they have put into fighting for something they believe in). The battle for DU GDP negative posting supremacy is one I will be glad for Obama to not win. Keep positive Obama pieces K&Red, go hard at McCain and let the handful of super negative Hillary supporters (that are in no way representative of the vast majority of Hillary supporters) make asses out themselves if they so wish to - there is no reason to join them in doing that.

What kind of crap is this:

Please start posting negativity about Hillary Clinton, documented or made up, doesn't matter....just do it consistently and brutaly. Keep these threads recommended and kicked so that they can float up to other pages that matter much more than GDP.

If you think that a single Hillary supporter is going to throw his/her enthusiastic support to Obama based on this divisive post, you're sadly mistaken.

I guess Hope, Change and Unity are empty words, as empty as the person who spews them like a mantra in every speech...........

Now HRC peeps are akin to Nazi mass murders. Wah! MomMi!! Make these mean people stop

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” - Joseph Goebbels

84. 40,000 volunteers now working in Texas
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/030108dnpolstrategy.392ccd4.html

Ground game Mr. Obama's under-appreciated strength is his organization.

He opened 20 offices statewide and began Friday to step up get-out-the vote efforts with block walking, phone banks and TV commercials.

The Obama forces have help, too: Organized labor, most notably the Service Employees International Union, is contacting voters on his behalf. And the liberal activist group MoveOn.Org will host house parties for him Sunday in Dallas and elsewhere in which 400,000 Texans will be contacted by phone.

Mr. Obama started here from scratch but had 100,000 volunteers already working in Texas. Some estimate his number of volunteers has more than doubled since his staff arrived in the state.

"A lot of this is volunteer-driven," said Obama spokesman Josh Earnest. "Those are the folks applying the elbow grease."

The Clinton operation has 18 storefront offices across the state and has recruited 41,000 volunteers. They are bringing in thousands more from other states, all to knock on doors this weekend and encourage supporters to vote.

Mrs. Clinton held a San Antonio rally in Hemsiphere Plaza, which drew about 6,000 on Friday.

In the last two weeks, it aimed at early voting, particularly among Latinos who could make up 40 percent of the Democratic vote. Mrs. Clinton has dominated among that group and appears poised to do so in Texas, too. The campaign has even offered supporters choice spots at rallies if they could show they had voted.

109. We need to be united.
I perfectly happy supporting Barack Obama if he wins the nomination; however, I am not going to join in a chorus of tearing down a fellow Democrat in the primary when our objective should be to take down the Republicans. Both now AND in the general election. Say what you will about your post, but it represents a symptom of the problem from both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporters. It seems that some have seriously forgotten whom we really should be fighting battles against -- who we really should be "manning our battle stations against"... It's sad and pathetic to read this on DU when the Republican slime machine is gearing up to destroy our party and our nominee in the fall. Let's truly unite and stop this immature shit -- that goes for both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporters. Sheesh.

This post should NEVER have made it to the Greatest Page. In fact, no post that serves only to disparage and attack fellow Democrats should even be allowed to make it to the greatest page. The only thing great about this post is how illustrative it is of a lack of organization on our part to beat the Republicans.

114. Read through the list -
I would prefer titles on issues or even events - but these are not the titles of people comfortabel with the current status of their candidate. These reek of desperation. The fact is no one not already against Obama is all that impressed with the Clinton people finding supposed descrepancies.

Read the Clinton email that slipped out in Texas. This shows that she is reacting to the Obama campaign - even to co-sponsoring bills out of fear that a top Obama supporter is able to reach "her" voters. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0308/Chasing_Kerry_in_Texas.html

Does this or the 3am ad indicate a campaign sure of itself or one that is completely desperate? The 3 am ad doesn't work because HRC has not developed the image of someone who could protect you. Circumstances or personal qualities can achieve it. Bush, for his base, did after 911. Kerry was able to achieve that for many with his personal history and the tableau of Kerry, veterans, and firemen in Iowa. Obama's calm demeanor in his ad, which is how he asks in the debates and the Senate, make him look like he would be strong in a time of crisis.
