Buckeye State Blog: [Rumor] Obama Internals Have Him Leading In Ohio Above MoE |
|
http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/rumor_obama_internals_have_him_leading_in_ohio_above_moe Obama Internals Have Him Leading In Ohio Above MoE
Submitted by Jerid on Sat, 03/01/2008 - 10:39pm.
A while back I reported that I'd gotten my eyes on some Obama Ohio internal polls which showed him within 7 points of Senator Clinton (this was way back when she was leading by 20 in all other polls, so at the time it was a big deal). Sure enough, within a few days public polling reflected the internal sentiment I'd published. Today I wasn't lucky enough to see new internals, but I did speak with some of my sources that dropped an interesting tidbit on me.
Apparently in discussions a week ago folks with the Obama campaign indicated Obama wouldn't be in Ohio this current weekend unless something BIG was happening. Specifically, they indicated he'd continue to focus on Texas unless internal polling showed him leading above the margin of error in Ohio.
And sure enough, yesterday the Obama campaign announced the Senator was returning to Ohio today and Sunday (in Westerville).

5. I have a friend who works for the local campaign and he told me this. |
|
He didn't say it was internal, but I asked if he meant the recent released polls and he shook his head no.
So take it for what it's worth.

11. I would prefer this race be over after Tuesday, therefore I'm hoping Obama wins |
|
Even though I don't consider him a much better candidate than Clinton.

12. His people always seem to be ahead of the curve... |
|
Which is probably why they were on the ground in TX long before the HRC camp...putting her in the position where she's been (unsuccessfully) trying to play catch-up.

17. I hope it is true too but I don't want expectations raised just so Clintons can spin later. |
|
With all the crap we have seen in the last month I am not believing anything that does not have some reasonable evidence backing it up.

24. True! Best to have lower expectations and be pleasantly surprised! |
|
It also works in the media better that way....as the Clinton campaign knows.
Besides, I'm not believing polls lately. They're not as reliable as they used to be.

25. OK, I have to ask: What is so special about an "internal" poll? |
|
How is it assumed to be more accurate than all the other polls out there?
Someone please explain to me.
