Is Unpleasentness a winning strategy? Maybe. Hillary's uptick may be an example |

Okay so Hillary seems to be on an upswing.
For the life of me, I can't find any positive reason for it. After her brief moment of graciousness two debates ago, she descended into angry scolding ("Shame on You"), immature mockery ("The sky will open up..."), whining ("Gee why am I always asked a question first? Bwahh haaaa."), scary ads and the fear card ("The world will be destroyed I you don't make me commander in chief...").
And of course there is her misleading hyperbolie of how she is so passionately committed to universal health care while Obama is a Republican on that issue. (Personally I wonder why, if she is so fucking committed to universal health care she doesn't emulate FDR and actually propose a real universal health care plan, instead of giving a gift to the insurance companies.) (But I'd say the same thing about Obama. But I agree with Obama that if that's the approach it ought to be optional.))
Total barfaroni stuff, and she rises in the polls.
Okay, in fairness, she made one really positive move with an anti-poverty plan. One point for her, but that was far overshadowed by her efforts to join with McCain as a tag team to drag Obama into the mud.
Maybe the most cynical observers are right. Maybe nastiness does win elections. I guess we'll find out on Tuesday.
But if she does somehow manage to nasty her way to the nomination, she will be outmatched in that department by Sen. John ("Get off my lawn!") McCain.

2. July 2007, Obama's Poverty Plan |
|
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/poverty/She whined about the media coverage so Obama has been pretty much absent from the tv. I haven't seen Michelle on in days. All we have is the media saying it's a win for her even if she ties in one state. I don't know why the media is so threatened by the damn Clintons.

5. It's been a brutal week for Obama |

in the press. He's either been absent from coverage or attacked by the media, McCain, and Clinton (Bill and Hill).

6. Hillary hasn't been surging....... |
|
don't believe it for one minute.
That's what they want you to think.
How could Obama tied up with Hillary in Ohio if she was the one surging?
It ain't happening.
And it won't happen.
Hillary has shown her stripes, and many don't want to see them in the White House.
It will be over soon, and she hasn't closed the deal....and it appears that Obama is doing just that.

8. Humoring your premise, with McCain and Clinton on the ballot, people will just stay home. |
|
Why bother putting your shoes on to go vote for more of the same?

9. Compare Where They Were After Wisconson To Where They Are Now |
|
He's ahead now in Texas after being way behind and virtually tied in Ohio after being even further back. These two states were supposed to be her firewalls and she lost all that ground.
