ENOUGH of this "if my candidate doesn't win" SHIT
I'm sick sick sick of this shit. There's maybe 20% difference (at the most) between Hillary and Obama -- probably more like 10%. Compare either of them with McCain/Bush/Neocon nazis now running the country.

And you tell me you are willing to help tank the whole country because your idol didn't win the primaries? I believe it was... William Pitt (??) who wrote a far more scathing post about this, and I can't hope to match his ferocity. But PLEASE people -- realize what is at stake!!!

If my favorite candidate doesn't win, I'm still throwing whatever support I can behind the other candidate. I have two children, you see. That ought to be enough explanation.

1. Same here, so long as it's clean
Because if it isn't, the country is basically screwed regardless.

2. I have children and grandchildren. And because of THEM I
WILL NOT vote for Hillary Clinton! I trust her less than George Bush. Sure, I'm upset that I would have to vote for McCain if she won the Dem nomination, but, to me, that is the correct course of action.

7. I agree
I will not vote for Hillary either. If she were by some chance to get in the White House, you can be assured we would stand a good chance of losing Congress in 2010, 1994 all over again. I would not vote Republican, but my conscience will not allow me to vote for Hillary.

3. I'll say it
Bunch of goddamned crybabies on both sides. And here we used to laugh when the republics "ate their own". Now they have been sitting back laughing their asses off at us. Way to go, children. WE NEED THE FUCKING WHITEHOUSE, WHETHER IT'S PRESIDENT CLINTON OR PRESIDENT OBAMA. If McCain wins because of you whiny petulant shitheads, don't bring your sorry asses back in here whining about it. Suck it up and let's show some unity, or just hand it over to turkey neck right now. I'm voting for Obama in November. I'm voting for Clinton in November. I'm voting DEMOCRAT in November. Class dismissed.

5. Depends on WHO picks the nominee: the voters, or the Clintons.
If the Clintons usurp the voters' wishes and end up forcing themselves as the nominee, no, I won't be voting for them. Why would ANYONE vote in the General Election, if their votes didn't count in the nomination process?

I hope you see the point? Yeah, you do.

Now, if the voters pick Clinton, that's another story. And if the voters pick Obama, that is fair for him to be the nominee.

Voters understand when their votes count, and when they don't.

22. More mindless conspiracies...
...and hypotheticals. I will never understand the mindset that gets dragged into these fantasy scenarios.

It is, however, interesting what psychologists say about it:

According to some psychologists, a person who believes in one conspiracy theory tends to believe in others; a person who does not believe in one conspiracy theory tends not to believe another.<20> This may be caused by differences in the information upon which parties rely in formulating their conclusions.

Some historians have pointed out the element of psychological projection in conspiracism; that is, the attribution to the supposed "conspirators" of undesirable characteristics of the self. Richard Hofstadter, in his essay The Paranoid Style in American Politics, stated that:

...it is hard to resist the conclusion that this enemy is on many counts the projection of the self; both the ideal and the unacceptable aspects of the self are attributed to him. The enemy may be the cosmopolitan intellectual, but the paranoid will outdo him in the apparatus of scholarship... the Ku Klux Klan imitated Catholicism to the point of donning priestly vestments, developing an elaborate ritual and an equally elaborate hierarchy. The John Birch Society emulates Communist cells and quasi-secret operation through "front" groups, and preaches a ruthless prosecution of the ideological war along lines very similar to those it finds in the Communist enemy. Spokesmen of the various fundamentalist anti-Communist "crusades" openly express their admiration for the dedication and discipline the Communist cause calls forth.

11. Well, JMDEM ...
neither you or Will Pitt get to decide what people do in the voting booth. I'm sure that's a harsh reality for you but them's the facts. I'll write in Hillary's name if she doesn't get the nomination.

13. Can I have a hell yes! We CAN NOT allow the republicans to have another shot
at running/ruining our country and if we give our power away to them now we'll never get it back. I agree, I have a son and I will vote whoever the democratic nominee will end up being.

I hope neither wins. I don't want either of them to be president.

And no, I don't want McCain, either. :eyes:

When I've had enough, I simply log off. I don't demand that others quit expressing their opinion.

21. Amen
I'm an Obama girl, myself. However, there is no frigging way I would EVER vote for McCain over Clinton. We need the White House now that we have a democratic congress (assuming we keep it-and I do), so we can finally get the serious work done.
