Here is an idea that could work
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 01:32 AM by barack the house
Just hear me out. How about HRC goes to Barack and says with her contributions I've got this money if you make me VP we can use it to win the WH. Now being VP isn't that bad it potentially mean 16 years of clintons. They could avoid division by dividing th issues betwen them. I dunno it's too logical they'll never go for it.. Well here's hoping.

1. My gut instinct tells me...
...this thing has gone too far and gotten too ugly for them to unite that closely.

3. Hillary brings nothing to the table as a VP choice
Ultra-high negatives and a ready-made soap opera in Bill. No thanks.

6. I agree. She is better left in the Senate if she is not the nominee.
And if either of them are elected, I hope they draw sparingly from the Senate. We will need the seats.

14. Clinton on the ticket obviates Obama's entire campaign message
You can't run on a "change" platform and have someone named Clinton on the ticket

5. It steps all over the message Barack has been cultivating successfully for the
last year.

I suppose he could change his message of change to 'just a tad bit of change' but I doubt it would work in the GE

7. No
He can't do it. It wouldn't make any sense due to his platform of "change", "anti-war", "transparency" and throwing the lobbyist out of DC on their asses. That is antithetical to what Hillary has been for the last sixteen years. The Independents and Repugs that have crossed over would run for the hills. Sorry.

Now, if she gets the nomination, she will have to have him as VP to carry over the young people and people pissed off at Hillary.

8. With their ambition, the Clintons cannot be trusted in VP slot.
There are allegations that the Hinckley family was tied to Bush family interests, and several informed theories on JFK's assassination have LBJ in on that affair. Knowing everything we do about the Clintons and their uncontrollable desire to return to the White House, why would anyone want to put them a heartbeat away? It's begging for trouble.

16. All I'm saying is it probably wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.
Every time I hear someone compare Obama to JFK or MLK, I shudder. And you see how nasty these posts are getting lately. I waited in line to get My Life signed, and shook Bill Clinton's hand, so God forbid, but just the same, I'd rest easier at night if he picked someone like Wesley Clark or Jim Webb, people that can close his military/foreign policy gap and not be so obviously into the idea of taking his job.

12. Why add the poison of fear and desperation to a winning campaign?
Obama will need to pick a VP who compliments his ticket, not the exact polar opposite.

...Ultijmately what works is reliablity with voters and if you don't change with the weather people put their trust in you. The CBS item threw my focus for a while there.
