Oh No....Harrison Ford for McCain? Bummah.
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 11:33 AM by Armstead
Was watching Shootout, a movie talk show on the AMC network. They were talking about the election and which celebrities were supporting whom. One of the hosts mentioned Harrison Ford is in McCain's corner.

He's one of my fave actors, I kinda thought he was a liberal Democrat. Maybe not. Ohhh I hope that's wrong.

6. Not true.
See my link in post #2. Harrison Ford only has one Republican donation on file at Newsmeat, and lots of Dems. He must just have a thing for McCain. Maybe he believed that BS about him being a maverick.

3. "I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain."
- Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) to Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in "The Empire Strikes Back"

Maybe she was right.

5. They're making an age comparison
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 11:39 AM by brentspeak
Some writers have tried to make an age comparison because McCain is running for President at age 71, while pointing out that Ford is still going strong as Indiana Jones at age 65.

That's all.

7. That is rather poopy. It's carbonite time, Harrison.
I thought he was with us. Oh well, we have ways of dealing with the likes of him.

10. Last Crusade for McLame
That is what is going to happen. McLame will go into his Last Crusade against Obama and he will perish in the Temple of Doom. Harrison Ford has always benn in the GOP so this is not surprising

9. More than a few Dems are saying they'd as soon vote for McCain as Obama.

Or even prefer McCain to Obama. I just won't vote for Obama, can't imagine voting for McCain. Cynthia McKinney may be the Green Party nominee and there's always Nader, or writing in Dennis Kucinich. The Democratic Party needs to be sent a message to give us better candidates and act like the left instead of constantly moving right.

16. Yeah, and NOBODY is saying that about Hillary...
It's near impossible to find someone who is saying they'd sooner vote for McCain than Senator Clinton, right? Or that they'd prefer him to her. It's pretty much only people who wouldn't vote for Obama.

will vote for McCain over Hillary.

Half will vote for Obama over McCain.

I'm voting Dem, but I'm the only one.

15. Wait. How do you know that Harrison Ford is supporting McCain?
You're basing your information from what you learned 4th-hand on a web chat board????

(Actually, even if it was true, I don't see why anyone would refuse to watch Harrison Ford movies. But that's another issue altogether.)

18. brentspeak, seriously, I use to like Mel Gibson
And after all the stuff about his anti-semitic remarks when he was drunk and then supporting Bush did it for me. When I see a movie with him in it I refuse to watch it. I have felt this way for years. Same with Britney Spears when she came out to support Bush in 04.

22. From looking at the actual record
it looks like his support has been completely Dem apart from one donation to McCain in 2000. He also donated $1,000 to Al Gore's campaign, and $10,000 to the DNC. Do you think it might be possible that he supported McCain's primary run in order to try to stop Chimpy? He would hardly be the only liberal or Democrat to have done that. I can't believe that anyone would honestly lump him together with Mel Gibson.

John McCain is the only Republican listed there which he's donated to.

Harrison Ford's been donating to Democrats (including my beloved late senator Paul Simon :loveya:) with the sole exception of McCain. I forgive him. :)
