I guess Hillary is about to learn how William Seward felt.
The heavily favored New York senator is about to lose the nomination for the presidency to the former state senator from Illinois, who was little known until he spoke in 2004 (see Lincoln-Douglas debates, 1858).

To Seward's everlasting credit, he was a valued supporter and adviser to Lincoln, serving as secretary of state. I hope Hillary does the same, as Senate majority leader (if she doesn't burn her bridges behind her).

Anyway, there are more than a few parallels. Let's hope Hillary and Barack work together as effectively as Lincoln and Seward.

2. I'm glad you like it. I owe it all to ElsewheresDaughter.
She posted it originally, and I thought it was sort of cool.

You Hillary supporters are a constant source of art for the rest of us. And it does not go unacknowledged, or unappreciated.

7. Nah. We're having fun, now.
Can't wait to team up against the Rethugs. It's been a long 7+ years, and now it's our turn.

9. Why, thank you.
Soon - very soon - you and John will be working to elect Barack Obama as 45.

I was a John Edwards guy, too, and donated money, as well.

But I am enthusiastically supporting Barack now. Lots of reasons, but just thanks for your K&R for now.

10. no WAY do I want her as senate majority leader
I want a TRUE democrat-Chris Dodd. In fact, I will support Bobby Kennedy Jr to replace her seat in NY as senator in 2012-we need PROGRESSIVES not middle-of-the-road I'm a democrat when it suits me politically and a republican when IT suits me
