Clinton Channels Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation"

WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- Hillary Clinton’s campaign message at this morning's rally here could be summed up with the lyrics of the song that opened her event: Elvis Presley's “A Little Less Conversation."

"A little less conversation, a little more action please / All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me / A little more bite and a little less bark," sang Elvis in his classic ditty, although he was singing about his love life and not about the Democratic primary. Regardless, it was a clever twist by the Clinton campaign to use it as she walked on stage to a cheering crowd in the Westerville North High School gymnasium.

“You know, for some people this election is about how you feel, it’s about speeches," she said, continuing a theme she's used for weeks now. "Well, that’s not what its about for me, its about solutions, its about rolling up your sleeves having a fighter back in the White House who is going to solve America’s problems,” Clinton said.

“That’s why I have been very specific in this election. You know, I’ve given a lot of speeches in my life, probably I don’t know, hundreds of thousands. Sometimes I finish a speech and people come up to me and say ‘oh, that was so inspiring. That was so wonderful. It made me feel so good.’ I say ‘well, that’s great but that’s just words.’ Our job is to make a difference,” she said.

“You know change has been talked a lot about in this election. You know change is going to happen whether we do anything or not. Change is part of life. The question is, are we going to make progress together? Are we going to make a real positive difference together?”

Clinton continued hammering away the point, “I don’t want you leaving my events and saying, ‘that was wonderful, but what was said? What was it about? And what are going to do?’ Because we need, once again, a fighter and a doer and a champion for the American people in the White House!”

As she wound down her remarks, Clinton told the crowd “You can count on me. You know when I will tell you I will try to do something for you, I will move heaven and earth to get it done.”

5. You know I'm not a flamethrower. I'm serious--she's accusing Obama
of being all talk and no action, and I'm wondering about HER claims to get stuff done.

10. I've seen her Senate record, but she's sure using overblown rhetoric
to describe her achievements. They have been modest at best. Obama's Senate achievements are not great feats of political courage or sweeping change, either, but he has done worthwhile things--they are pretty much even, years in the Senate weighted. And I don't think she put up a big struggle with Republicans to get stuff passed, either. I'm poking a hole in the myth that he's all talk and she's all action. Both of them are a little of both.

36. He's also said he'd do one thing in speeches, and then did the exact opposite when it counted.

3. Ya know, we Hillary supporters are exhausted posting and posting these
responses, over and over and over. If you are TRULY interested, read the threads going back a couple of days. If you are not TRULY interested, why post this stuff?

6. the only time I've seen her passionate about anything is the attack on Obama.
the Shame On You. good lord that was embarrassing.

Now if she had said that about the many Bush crimes these last 8 years, with such conviction, I'd jump up and down in praise of her, but no, she reserves that kind of outburst for Obama and she and hub make snuggly with the mass murderer.

feh.

8. That happens when you restrict your focus to your own campaign
. . . and everything written which supports your campaign. Perfectly natural.

9. "What has she moved "heaven and earth" to accomplish in the Senate?"
The initial Bankruptcy bill that rewarded the banks for all the campaign money that paid for her to become a Senator.

Of course she's since said she was glad the bill she co-sponsored, and voted for, was defeated so I guess that doesnt count.

4. She's doing it for herself, no one else. She's been preparing to be president for a long time.
It's not easy to let go of that when it appears out of reach. Clinton will do and say anything for her own purposes.

11. That's a stretch. She is determined. I've read her life history and accounts from those who know her
. . . and it shows an American who has spent most of her life working to solve problems and help people. You may not like her, or agree with some of the choices she has made, but there is no doubt that Hillary Clinton has made public service her life's focus. That's her strength, her commitment to making things work and making things happen for her constituents, for the American people, and for those individuals she's inspired and connected with overseas. I hope she doesn't 'let it go.'

20. If she's such a fighter, why did she duck a fight in so many states? She ran from most of the tough
fights in this campaign. She's always looking for the easy territory, running away from Wisconsin and instead heading to Texas--"Meet me in Texas!"--only to realize she's going to lose there, so it became, "Meet me in Ohio!"--only to realize she might lose there, so Rhode Island suddenly became the big swing state in this contest.

She has proven with this campaign, as with the IWR, that she is not a fighter.

I don't suppose you noticed that she spoke about her own qualifications and intentions without mentioning Obama at all..

Hint: They're both campaigning to win.

Telling somebody to get their head out of their ass. Second, she talked again about the Speeches vs. Solutions bs, so yes she hs is referring to Obama.

39. Of course, she's talking about Obama.
But, she, isn't anywhere near as rude or as vulgar as some of her critics. Her comments are not out of line with ANY campaign. Obama makes the same comparisons. And, I'm certain that both are well aware of the positions advocated by each other on the campaign trail.

37. "...hundreds of thousands..." may be exaggerated quite a bit. Ten
every single day of her 35 years experience is 127,750. I can not imagine anyone averaging 10 speeches a day for that long. 10 x 365 x 35 = 127,750

Thanks Bill - that great decision of yours to protect the FASCIST thugs led directly to the return of Bush2, 9-11 and this Iraq war.
