Watching 60 Minutes. One of the people being interviewed by Steve Croft
said "I have issues with Obama, him bein' Muslim, I hear he doesn't know the national anthem." Croft said "you know that's not true." The man responded "that's what I'm bein' told."

Oh joy!! A non-thinker!!

1. I found Hillary's response to the "Do you think he's a Muslim?" question
to be...odd. The way she phrased it, that is.

That is also mighty "christian" of her also

She isn't being sarcastic

I know what she is doing and so do you, painting doubt in people's mind. Remember the debate, remember he wasn't strong enough with denouce, until he was forced to say reject

SHE IS DOING THE BAITING, and let her campaign continue this crap and see what happens in the GE if she gets the nomination

18. "I take him at his word"? WTF? As if someone asked her if he ever stole an
office computer, or cheated on his taxes or something! That was a weird way to respond--with ominous guilt/innocence overtones.

30. That is what McCain will probably say too. "He SAYS he is not X, and i take him at his word."
Oh, this is sad. Howard Dean, white courtesy phone, please.
As DEMOCRATS, we should be at the very least, swatting down the lies forcefully, and pointing out the fact that the Repubs are lying about most everything.

i would expect the same from Obama, if asked about "hillary is a murderer" - I had to knock that one down just this week, along with the "OMG, B Hussein is a terrist mooselim who hates jeeezus" emails that my sister's co-workers are trying to spread.

Hey, supporters can prefer their candidate, but we should have each others' backs on the RW BS.

And sniffa, i know you are not a hyper-supporter of X or Y- this is just a common rule for us all to remember. ;)

at his word". Odd, yes. Then Steve Croft asked her again and she then said she did not believe it to be true.

26. In the first place...what kind of stupid
question is that? It's a question to raise doubts in people's mind and ol' hilary loved it 'cause her wheels were turnin' and she's thinkin', "A Ha!, this is how I'm gonna beat that fiesty kid!"

She can't win fairly like bush couldn't but that only inspires them to to dive deeper into the sewer.

29. Should it matter?
If she's not fucking people in the oval office on duty, it should not matter what they do in the privacy of their closed doors. None of anyone's business. Almost like "Don't ask don't tell", but gossip is our way of life...

Once people hear about it, have a lead shield conveniently handy. Look at other people getting caught, such as Larry Craig. Uh, duh?!

And it mattered for Bill because he sleazed around and didn't expect somebody to tattle. That's a bit obtuse, now isn't it?! WHO THE BLOODY HELL WOULDN'T TATTLE?! I mean, to sleep with the president in a day and age when the news is littered with "I bonked ____" articles revolving around famous people... "Hey everybody, I played with the president's pecker!!" and get some free publicity to satisfy one's starved ego.

It's very simple and straightforward.

Yet she sure had no hesitation to have her campaign push that lie all over the place, and didn't take the opportunity to destroy the lie when she had the chance.

28. I don't remember Huckabee's actual quote. Clinton's answer on Obama wasn't as weasily
but Huckabee said something like, "you'll have to ask him" or "if he says so."

I said Clinton's answer on Obama was "a bit" like Huckabee's answer on Romney because I don't know why either of them didn't just say that the other was a Christian, or at least say it's a non-issue.

32. I use to live in Chillicothe Ohio
I was not surprised at the mans answer. Most of the old gen has worked in a factory like there fathers and grandfathers before them. At that time they didn't need to higher there education. To them its go to work for 8 to 10 hours come home relax watch a little tv and off to bed. They thought they had secure jobs for life. I cried when I heard this mans story I had to walk out of the room. I have only moved a couple miles down the road to a smaller town but the job loses had been horrible to these people. Then when I heard the guy talk about the paper mill glatfleter which I lived maybe 2miles from talk about how had it is to compete with overseas because they pay them less and environment standards. I really had to laugh on that one. Sometimes in the summer when it was really hot you couldn't open your windows because the smell of the plant was so bad. It had me thinking if we lowered are standards any lower we would be like Japan and couldn't walk the streets when the pollution got so bad.
Well anyway it was nice to see them cover our little working town Chillicothe.

glad they covered your little town, too. It was very quaint and hopefully will be bustling again someday in the not-too-distant future !

There are lots of Chillicothes in America. We have lots of work to do ! :hi:

35. "Quaint" is not the word that comes to mind when I think of Chillicothe.
If you've ever lived in a small town in which people can no longer depend on the kinds of "jobs for life" that used to keep the place going, you find little about them that's "quaint" or "charming." Especially if you love it and want to stay there, but can't figure out how to make ends meet.

It tends to be outsiders from big cities or soulless suburbs who come across towns like these and are charmed by their dear old little churches and the darling little courthouse and the lovely old-fashioned architecture of the whatzis...yeah, a building or two here and there may make for a great snapshot, but to live in a town like that is not so much fun.

use of the word "quaint". Obviously, I've never been there.

But I did work for awhile last year in a small town in SC that had been decimated by NAFTA. Lots of cute old buildings, abandoned. Absolutely nothing to do. Not even a theater, or a mall. No activities. It was like a ghost town. The hospital was busy, but I'm still not certain what people "did".

I lasted about six weeks and then I packed up and went home. I couldn't bear it. So yeah, definitely understand what you're saying. It was bleak.. and hopeless.
