What in the fuck is wrong with DU?
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 08:51 PM by stop the bleeding
How can a thread/OP threatening to not vote in the GE because their DEM may not win the nomination get 7 recommendations?

You people are recommending a thread that says this person will not vote in the GE because their candidate may not win.

You are recommending a thread not to vote for a DEM on DEMOCRATICUNDERGROUND.COM

In the words of Mugatu(Will Ferrell) "I must be taking crazy pills"

boy, that is almost incredible. they seem to be everywhere, trying to crap on everyone who cannot see their candidate's perfection and inevitability.

Yesterday a poster (Obama supporter) asked for people to post even lies to bring post count up against Hillary.

It can get real bloody in here. It'll blow over once the nominee is finally decided.

43. No, it wasn't
And I was a Deaniac- we and the Clarkies got into it plenty and got plenty thrown at us by the other camps. 2004 was still not this bad.

People need a vacation or some happy pills. I am an uncomitted who just votes Dem in Nov, in my mind Obama and Clinton are 6 of one, half dozen of the other. I can't understand the vitriol or the passion, since both are very similar on the issues and are moderately centrist Dems. Good candidates who will be a good president, but neither is going to revolutionize the American system of government.

But their supporters act as though they are running against Pol Pot or Stalin, and find every imagined slight about which to complain. It's bloody amazing the idiocy on this site these days. I guess I keep coming back to see the train wreck.

However, look at McCain, who was attacked constantly by the right wing radio hosts, yet now they're all coalescing around him.

I think some of the newer posters on DU think a Democrat shouldn't win.

Fortuately, they're greatly outnumbered, in spite of their generous use of sock puppets. If Will Ferrell doesn't post here, he should. :-)

14. At least nominally..
mostly progressives are insulted or marginalized.

Nevertheless, the idea that if your candidate doesn't win the nomination you won't vote doesn't make a lot of sense. My candidate's long gone but i'll still be voting. If only by drawing a picture of my middle finger on the ballot.

no not really. i'll be voting.

20. Sadly, while we like to believe all Democrats are better than
Republicans, it's not the case. There are Democrats that will sell out our nation, just because they didn't get their own way. The worse part of their actions, is because of the Supreme Court issues, future generations will pay for their betrayal, more than they will.

26. You stoke the fires with your last sentence.
"It needs to end, and barring something unusual happening Tuesday, Hillary needs to pull out." If Obama takes Ohio and Texas, than it would be time for her to concede. It is still close enough in votes and delegates for her to continue until Tuesday. Both camps need to back off of all the he said, she said bickering. I voted for Edwards but will have no problem voting for either Clinton or Obama. Hopefully the nominee will incorporate some of Edwards policies.

31. Just stating the facts
even if she wins Ohio (which I expect her too) a single digit victory in Ohio and even Texas is not enough, the delegate math is simply not in her favor. That's why you've been seeing the super delegates starting to move towards Obama. You're right about the bickering though.

Once, for telling a poster to stop spreading right wing talking points.

And another time, for requesting a poster stop picking fights and insulting people.
I even said "Please" !!! Then got attacked harder - the poster reeeally wanted to fight.
I didn't at all - just wanted them to back off the hostile attitude.
Thought I could appeal to their humanity. Am I stupid or what??

It's just crazy in here, and people throw out stuff they think will hurt the most.
Oh, and it doesn't matter to me whic candidate you support - this goes on in both camps.
