Poll question: Who do you REALLY think would be a better president?
Between Clinton and Obama, I mean. Obviously there are many who had a different candidate originally and believe they would be better than the final two.

20. You are kidding right. Gore sighed repeatedly in a debate. You trust Hillary not to come off
as annoying between now & November? That will be her Dean scream.

Reality bites.

29. Kucinich would be a great President
Doesn't mean I would spend time and money supporting someone who will almost certainly not win

14. A candidate who supports single payer and protecting SS --- for just two ideas . . .
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 10:42 PM by defendandprotect
Neither Clinton nor Obama support those concepts ---

How about someone talking regularly about Global Warming and the tremendous threat it is to
humanity and the planet?

How about someone talking about obscene Oil industry prices/profits ---
and nationalizingthe industry? And, apply a "Windfall Profits Tax" . . . ?

How about someone talking about electric cars NOW and getting our gas-guzzler off the roads?

How about someone talking about the bankrupting of our Treasury which should be TREASON?

How about someone talking about ending our occupation of Iraq and at least acknowledging our
more than 4,000 dead soldiers -- and more than 2 million dead Iraqis?

How about someone talking about restoring our Constitutional rights/Bill of Rights?

How about someone talking about ending the warmongering we've all suffered over the last 8 years?

How about candidates who stand against capital punishement --- ?

What's Hillary's postion on it --- ? I think she supports it . . .

What's Obama's position on it --- ? I think he supports it . . .

What about someone talking aobut ending our phony Drug War ---

What about 1 out of every 1000 American citizens in JAIL --- ??? !!!!

On and on it could go ---

Wake up, folks !!!!

25. I know what you mean, defendandprotect.
Neither Hillary or Barack is talking the real talk.

but I have a feeling Obama is flying below the radar to be an 'acceptable' runner. If he started off with Kucinich or Gravel honesty he'd be dust as well long before now. He keeps saying there is little difference between his and Clinton's policies, saying it too often. She doesn't, does she?

I'm thinking he's sneaky, in a good way. You can't change the establishment in one fell swoop - impossible. So many decades of corporate cash harm and political complicity and fuck the poor can't be undone in a dramatic way. His job is getting in, then we'll see things ratchet up a bit more in the favor of the great unwashed - is what I believe.

Could be way wrong, but that's the feeling I'm getting. I think he is genuinely interested in the Urgency of Now.

I just made up an Amos'n'Andy routine about "reject and denounce"

Now I am pining for the Kingfish.

Holy Mackeral!

Edit: just realized why I did that. There WAS such a bit - sort of -

Kingfish: "I rejects the allegation and resents the allegator"
