Did anyone else have problems with reception on Air America?
Los Angeles is bordered by Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura. Most of Orange and L.A. Counties are relatively flat. Today in Orange County, the reception started off great (during the daytime) and it was excellent along the toll-routes between 5 and 91 and along 91 through NORCO (the beginnings of Riverside County). It was pretty dead in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties except on the route between San Bernardino to Running Springs in the San Bernardino Mountains. Then there was sporadic hard-to-hear coverage off and on between Running Springs and Big Bear.

However, starting about 5:30 P.M., the reception was difficult to make out at best in Norco through Orange County. The station was so weak that the bounce from other stations overpowered it and made it difficult to make out any conversations. Virtually every other A.M. station in L.A. can be heard in Orange County in the evenings. The signal must be very weak and needs to be boosted in the L.A. Air America station so that we in Orange County can hear it.

Oh, everything I heard was great. Once it's more audible in Orange County, I'd like to put a bumper sticker on my car notifying everyone about Air America.

1. AM gets weird at night.
The powerful stations can broadcast halfway across the country, and the little ones broadcast a few blocks.

3. And at sunset, the little ones sometimes
have to drop their power, which may be why reception sucked after 5:30pm

2. I tried to listen at work today...
but the stream was TERRIBLE. While it was consistent, it was murky, distorted and had virtually no volume.
