4. I almost changed my mind to voting for Kerry....
If Dean was a candidate for VP, I would certainly vote for Kerry. Otherwise, not.

8. Landrieu is the big dark horse here
She is a conservative democrat, from the South, and frankly has boobs, comes from the one deep south state that could be put in play, and is physically attractive.

Who knows about skeletons, campaign skills nationwide, or what have you, but she would shake up the race big time. In an ABB climate though, even liberals would probably bite their tongues and support the ticket, and she could help with the moderate republican women, independents.

10. Frankly yup
Maggie Thatcher had boobs, and I would have never voted for her Tory ass if I was brittish, but the marginal voters, who are dissaffected, yeah, some of them would vote for the ticket just because there was a woman there. On the other hand, there are people who would vote against the ticket just because of gender.

I am not arguing it is just, right, civilized, just a reality. A bunch of Oprah watching suburban republican women, would probably get into the booth, and want to do their little bit at sister power. It could be the margin of difference here.

For my taste, Landrieu is much too conservative on abortion and defense policy, yet realistically, you want the VP candidate to offer something different than the Prez candidate.

Landrieu like I said, is from the south, a woman, from the only state in the region of the deep south who could actually give Kerry a state, and attractive. That is the other thing we can't kid ourselves on. Some people vote on looks. Sucks, but it is reality.

18. Landrieu will not help us much with the deep south...
Take it from one of her constituents... She's an okay senator, no Paul Wellstone or Russ Feingold, but she does a fairly good job especially considering the fact that she is quite liberal by comparison to most politicians here in Louisiana. However, Republicans HATE her guts simply because she is a democratic seantor from the deep south. She will not attract Republican votes at all and will probably not help in any states besides Louisiana. Having her on the ticket alone will not win us Louisiana but having her might be the difference between winning and loosing the state.

12. Richardson is my pick, I REALLY hope he doesn't take Dean...
Nothing against Dean, but what advantage does choosing him bring to the ticket?

13. Other than Landrieu, none of those will ever happen
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 04:37 PM by Bombtrack
Rubin and Richardson have both ruled it out, and I emphasize Richardson, because other than Edwards, he has been the vp suggestion-dujour of the brainless model/broadcaster bots who constitute news analysts, who are extremely lazy and never pick up on the fact that Richardson has ruled out being vp several times including a few weeks ago again.

The man CANNOT do triple duty as first term governor in the middle of a term, Chairman of the democratic convention AND vp candidate. It's not possible.

Clinton and Dean are just the most idiotic choices imaginable. Way to really reach out Nominating a Massachusetts candidate in Boston with a vp who is perceievedly even more stylistically liberal both personally and from states that are just as left of center and just as safe for democrats in the same part of the country.

On edit: This is just a stupid post, I don't like waisting my already waisted time on this board to respond to things and then realize it's an unfunny "joke". Please mods lock this
