Why can't the President of the United States
The leader of the free world, the most powerful man on the planet, testify before a bipartisan committee BY HIMSELF? Please ask your conservative pals. Why can't this powerful man of integrity chit chat without dick holding his hand? We at DU know the answer - bush and cheney have to keep their story together. Can't have conflicting stories about the connection between War in Iraq and Dick's energy task force. Please poke your conservative acquaintances in the eye with this question.

2. He'll be wearing shin guards... Cheney will keep him controlled
If they have nothing to hide why have they been stonewalling the commission at seemingly every step.

3. Yet again, they've screwed themselves. This will only make Bush...
... look even more like an incompetent boob who can't be trusted.

It only further erodes their credibility and the trust people have in them. It looks for all the world like they need to be together to keep their stories straight (or that Bush is incapable of speaking for himself).

But they HAVE to. They've dug their own graves... with lies, and with anointing such an incompetent as president. They have no choice. The alternative would sink them even faster.

4. Exactly!
It is indefensible, although I would love to hear a conservative give it a shot. I only have a handful of conservative friends and family members and they won't discuss * with me anymore.

5. Just another instance
of the empire getting their way. What they don't realize (or maybe ever knew) they answer to us, the citizens of this country. Frankly, I don't know if we can wait until November. They need to be stopped now before any more damage is done to our country. I believe GW once said that he didn't need to explain to anyone. I beg to differ. He owes it to us to tell us the whole truth. He and his cabal have hogtied the media. And by the way, I have lost the email address for Bill Frist. Does anyone have the address to him directly. I have to tell him what an asshole he is. Appreciate it if someone can help me with the address. I am going to let him have it full blast about Richard Clarke and how stupid he looked and sounded on the floor of the Senate.

7. Quite a poser there

It's probably because when he's asked a question by a hostile interviewer (read: someone who's asking him about an obvious lie in the face of contradictory evidence), he tends to get shifty and arrogant and says stupid things. Remember, "What's the difference?".
