Who here DOESN'T want to see Gephardt as VP? |
|
see topic. I don't...I just think that it won't help Kerry politically at all. I have nothing against Gep--he's a faithful Democrat, but I just don't think he'd get the job done like Clark or Graham or *gasp* McCain.

While I think that he would do a good job, I think there are stronger candidates out there.

2. I'd prefer him to McCain or Nader or any other Republican, |
|
but not to about 50 or so other Democrats.

I'm liking Bill Richardson a lot. Idealism needs to ride shotgun and let pragmatism drive this stretch.

7. I don't have that much of a problem with McCain, |
|
but i never did like Gephart. I'm mean if Kerry decides go the route of taking a middle of the road VP, then i think McCain would do a better job of attracting votes then Gephart. It would be the final straw that gets the fiscal republicans who are discusted with *s fiscal policy to vote for Kerry.

10. As VP, okay; as VP candidate, no |
|
I think he'd be okay as a VP, but as a candidate, he is redundant to Kerry in many ways. The main one: another long voting record for the RNC to pick over and distort.

It's Bush's game to reward people for failures. No more so called "Democrats" deserve a reward for appeasing the bastard.
Nor do they deserve a reward for political assassinations :grr:

14. There are many Dean Democrats who would feel personally insulted |
|
if gephardt is chosen as VP and I'm one of them. I'm ABB but that would be the straw that breaks the donkey's back. I will NEVER cast a vote for that bastard regardless of the alternative. I have no more trust in him to do the right thing than I have for bush*. And for those who want to flame me, first try to justify those horrendous, lying ads. gephardt is not a Democrat, he is an opportunist.

We don't need to give the repubs another 20 year voting record to pick apart. That ticket is uninspiring, and extremely safe.

Granted he definately is a perfect example of the American dream but he's a politician of a former generation. We need somebody who America will get excited about.

I'd love to see Gep on the ticket, but I think Kerry is going to go with a more "uniter" type of pick, rather than someone that is perceived as so partisan a dem. McCain is not out of the question, imo.

He helped draft the Iraqi resolution and has continued to be quite strong in his support of it. On domestic issues he is pretty good but he also is quite dull.
