1. It's an absurd notion. For every American that would be more likely
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 07:18 AM by Bombtrack
to vote for Kerry because of it, there are 10 who would be less likely. Kerry is a hell of alot smarter than to throw away several good choices for that aweful one.

I apologize if my opinion angers/frustrates you, it's just I think it should be clear that the GOP salivates at that "possibility" of Hillary being chosen. I've yet to see any credible reporting that she's on any shortlist from the Kerry campaign, as I have with people like Graham, Edwards, and Landrieu.

4. The Hillary Factor
I am a concerned Dem when you hear Hillary saying there is going to be a catastrophic event happen before the election to either Bush or Kerry. My concern is that with that said I think Hillary is positioning herself for it to happen to Kerry and she know's something that we don't.

5. I'll bet Hillary is just sitting
on a grassy knoll as we speak! Get real. Identify your source for Hillary saying anything that resembles "something catastrophic" will happen to bush or Kerry before the election? Source?

6. Welcome to DU Atlanta3317!
:toast: :hi:

I think that everyone believes something will happen, to bolster bush's poll #'s/chances for re-selection. Hillary is just saying what everyone else is thinking.

I put NOTHING past this bunch; they will do anything to retain the WH and Congress.

:(

7. There is a significant difference
between (a) thinking the administration is posed to try a "September Surprise" to win the election; and (b) thinking Hillary is positioning herself, due to esoteric knowledge that "something catastrophic" will happen to Kerry. (a) represents democratic insight; (b) represents either republican misinformation or the National Inquirer-type reporting.

Rush/Hannity/Safire floating the Hilary saves the convention scenario. Except maybe you should have been paying attention to the news for the last couple of months. We have a nominee and his name is John Kerry.

9. Seems kind of curious, doesn't it?
A new member comes on to say that the Wicked Witch of the Democratic Party is part of a top secret conspiracy, complete with a catastrophy which will take Kerry out of the running, thus forcing Hillary on a pathetic and unsuspecting democratic party. Evidence requested/request denied. Just goes to show: we can't trust Hillary. Either that, or there are some republicans with a combination of a low IQ and an agenda....who are contributing to the d.u.

12. What I find most funny about that scenario is...
even if it were to happen, why would they take someone who didn't even run as the nominee? Why not give it to Edwards or Clark instead?

It's not happening, it's mindless Freeper nonsense.

11. I would put the odds of it at...
slightly higher than LaRouche for VP and slightly lower than Sharpton as VP.

13. As much as I admire and respect Hillary Clinton, it's just not time for
her yet. The Clinton fatigue needs a little more time to die down.

I do think she is a dynamite candidate worthy of consideration in her own rights. In 2008 or 2012 she will be a worthy foe. She knows this and is binding her time and paying her dues.

Just watch her ..
