Obama should pull his punches for the next four weeks....
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 08:07 PM by Flabbergasted
He'd be a fool to implement a full frontal attack at this point. His campaign is working as it is. He's likely going to win two states before Penn. He needs to see how Clinton handles her campaign for the next month and ratchet things up in April depending on how the polling looks in Pennsylvania. He needs to build a super ground game in Pennsylvania with some huge rallies included.

His messages works. He needs to go slightly negative on Hillary and meet her punch for punch.

From there, in May, he is strongly favored and should have little problem convincing the SD to vote for him depending on the May contests.

Patience is the key for him at this point.

1. What're you smoking?
Ask John Kerry how "staying above the fray" worked out for him.

He has to match her blow for blow.

5. Kerry won the primary. The GE will require a different strategy.
Actually I said he needs to meet her "blow for blow" but not exceed that. This has been his strategy so far and he shouldn't deviate from it at this point.

14. I'm with the OP
Will Democrats really reward the person that swiftboated a fellow Dem? Obama can show up in Denver with the delegate lead AND the moral high ground.

In the general, yes fight.

3. He needs a surrogate
a pit bull who will go around to the talk shows and raise issues about her - then he himself doesn't have to do it.

9. No...
he is facing an existential threat politically. This is not merely about him losing an election. The Clintons are out to destroy him.

He can go negative without too much damage if he sticks to factual arguments...none of this bullshit that fails under scrutiny. There is no need to make up shit on the Clintons. He has to fight or he loses.

10. Clinton has enough dirt that he can attack without lies and slander
Obama will keep the attacks genial, but they will still have an impact.
