McCain looks not so good against either DEM
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 08:35 PM by featherman
Maybe we shouldn't worry too much about the primary campaign continuing. It will continue to dominate news cycles and increase interest and participation of voters. Whoever gets the nomination has a lot of built in advantages versus John McCain, 2008's Bob Dole perhaps.

"These are terrible numbers for McCain. Nothing is definitive and permanent, and sure, it's only a March poll. Also note, this poll is 'adults'; RVs and LVs this far out is almost impossible to figure. But some of the things highlighted here cannot be changed. You can't teach youth (to steal from the basketball bromide about height), McCain is not a change candidate, and Iraq opinions are strongly held."

Here's some more interesting stuff on this:

2. I have read many posts today saying Hillary can't beat McCain or
Obama can't beat McCain. People are a bit too emotional these days. If we can't beat McCain with either candidate the party needs to be broken up and disbanded. McCain is the best they can do?

5. Oh no kidding.

As long as our act is together by July or so, it should be very doable.

3. I feel the same way...

As long as the primary doesn't get totally ridiculous and goes to a brokered convention (which I seriously doubt), we have plenty of time to show this warmonger for what he is.

6. This election is not a referendum on Bush or the War in Iraq
it's about who the people trust to protect them from terrorism starting January 20th 2009.

All this blather about McCain being old and his position as Bush's butt boy being untenable is misinformed and betrays a basic misunderstanding of what presidential elections are about.

Right now is McCain is more trusted to protect the people.

7. I've also heard that continuing our campaign
takes interest away from McCain. The media will be following Clinton and Obama (although this could be disadvantage as well as an advantage, as I see it).
