How about former TX Gov. Ann Richards for veep? |
|
My mom bounced this off me this morning. Frankly, I know little about her than that she's Texan, lost to * in 1994, and interviews well. Anyone have a moment or two to educate me?

1. We need someone who's a star right now. Edwards, for example. |

2. She is a plain talking and awesome leader. |

I would love it, but the obfuscatory spectre of "electability" would probably preclude her.

First, she's too old.
Next, she lost to Shrub.
Third, I saw her on Larry King, & she doesn't want to run.

and Ann Richards is a long time sober member of alcoholics anonymous. She and Bush declared that "off limits" for the Tex elections (since he didn't dare bring up booze and drugs) but it won't be offlimits in a general election

5. Bad choice. Sorry. She looks like she's pushing 80, and Dukakis |

picked an old Texan as his vp, the comparison would be eagerly drawn by the GOP.
If any woman is picked it will be Mary Landrieu

will have to be menopausal. madeline albright would be great. a young attractive woman just raises too many pheromones among the barely evolved out there. i do love anne richards. i don't care how many elections were stolen from her by THEM. hard to see it going over with the sheeple, tho.

But I vote for McCain. Under the ideal scenario, Kerry would wait until a few weeks before the election then let it rip. The surge would be unstoppable.

Although I'd dearly love to see a woman on the ticket at some point, this isn't the time to do it. Kerry needs a southerner, either the eloquence of Edwards or the military gravitas of Clark would do.
We need to oust Bush. The country depends upon it.

Sounds perfect. And hey, while we're offering suggestions, why not have Kerry deliver his convention speech in French?

One of the reasons why she lost to Bush was because her drinking problem at the time was notorious.
