the popular vote, Obama would have applied a different strategy. The primary is about delegate count. You don't need a certain number of popular vote counts to win a nomination...you need a certain number of delegates.

Only the most desperate of partisan twits can take the inherently UNdemocratic caucus system and say that is comparable to a legitimate primary vote. The mandate given to Hillary Clinton by the voters of Texas is crystal clear.
Your boy lost Texas last night. Suck it up and move on, kiddo.

|
Since, in your view, caucuses are undemocratic, therefore they don't count? It's funny how the DNC takes a different view than you and accredits them with delegates. The delegates are the only thing that counts in selecting the nominee. Your candidate of choice understands this (regardless of what she may say) so why can't you?

http://www.usnews.com/blogs/news-desk/2008/03/04/explaining-the-texas-two-step.html"Those who have voted in the Texas Democratic primary are eligible to take part in a caucus at their precinct location this evening. Those caucuses will choose delegates who will go on to a county/district Democratic convention to be held on March 29. But it's not over after that. Delegates at the county/district convention will choose delegates to go on to a June 6 state convention in Austin. Those delegates will choose how the 67 national delegates are split between the candidates." Since those that have chosen to share their caucuses results show O'bama in the lead it is likely that he will win TX by 3 delegates http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/03/about_those_texas_caucus_resul.php

This is so delusional it's sad. Just because Hillary didn't understand the Texas process doesn't make her the winner. It's like claiming you won the entire biathlon after only winning the 1st part but failing the 2nd. The first person to cross the finish line WINS whether you like it or not, and most delegates decides the winner in Texas, not "whomever wins the primary but loses the caucus".
Obama won, Hillary lost. Any other conclusion is madness.

Some have said both pukes (some at Rush's insistence) and independents voted for Hillary in private, but did not have the guts to vote for her in the caucuses - hence, the discrepancy.
Just one theory?
No matter how ya spin it, Obama will have the most pledged delegates when the dust settles in July - and he currently leads the national popular vote by about 600K.
Hillary needs to decide if she wants a floor fight at the convention or not.

ANY of them are able to change their minds.
What's important to realize is that these aren't random people assigned as delegates. They're hand-picked by the parties. They are ardent supporters of their candidate. I think it's a real stretch to expect them to change their minds...especially in view of the animosity between the two camps.

(and even the evening news tonight) Obama will be projected to have won TX caucuses later on, which will give him a slight win in TX delegates. So he'll have won 2 of 4, or 2 of "5," if you want to think of it that way.

44. Results will done.released the way HRC wanted them to... |
|
Friday night news dump that Obama got TX when you look at what matters---delegate count (after caucus results in). She gets to pretend all week that she won, the MSM gets to try and convince people that she won. THIS is why her campaign didn't want the TX caucus results done ASAP as the TX Dem party was trying to do (to the tune of $60,000 to rush the results)..HRC camp wanted the numbers buried til HRC could go around all week lying about winning TX. Isn't there another state happening this weekend?? So the attention totally switches to THAT state and the TX caucus results are buried quickly..no anaylsis of the total number of delegates won..no stats/graphs/talking heads, etc...poof, they are gone.
Which is why Obama winning the Dem nom will be so much sweeter to watch...HRC is going to get f'd by her karma in a big way. Hell, she will probably be on TV after the national convention STILL trying to convince people she is the Dem nom...even after HE makes an acceptance speech.
