I didn't go hear her after an invitation from a friend, but now I wished that I had so I could have caught her "campaigning" and breaking the rules she agreed to.

3. so what defines what?
I thought they promised not to go to Florida at all? Sorry but I don't know where the rules were posted.

I'm sure she didn't just eat dinner. That is why I said I wished now I would have gone....

8. No they pledged to not campaign..which meant no press conferences, no commericals
no rally's ..no campaigning..period until after the primary.

the only one who broke that pledge was Obama.

yes i know Obama got permission for the commercials that were seen in Fla the week before the primary from the SC dem party..but he still broke his pledge..a pledge that no other candidate broke.

Obama was also the first candidate to say he would seat the florida delegation..before the ink even dried on the pledge he took...not to seat the Fla delegates..

now who was breaking the rules???????????

maybe the rest of the country doesn't know the bullshit..but we in Fla ..get it..and most are aware of his hypocracy...of what he says and what he has actually done.

Barack Obama held an impromptu news conference after a Tampa fundraiser Sunday.

By WILLIAM MARCH and ELAINE SILVESTRINI The Tampa Tribune

Published: September 30, 2007

TAMPA - Barack Obama hinted during a Tampa fundraiser Sunday that if he's the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, he'll seat a Florida delegation at the party's national convention, despite national party sanctions prohibiting it

Obama also appeared to violate a pledge he and the other leading candidates took by holding a brief news conference outside the fundraiser. That was less than a day after the pledge took effect Saturday, and Obama is the first Democratic presidential candidate to visit Florida since then.Obama and others have pledged not to campaign in Florida until the Jan. 29 primary except for fundraising, which is what he was doing in Tampa.

But after the fundraiser at the Hyde Park home of Tom and Linda Scarritt, Obama crossed the street to take half a dozen questions from reporters waiting there.

The pledge covers anything referred to in Democratic National Committee rules as "campaigning," and those include "holding news conferences.

Obama seemed unaware the pledge he signed prohibits news conferences. Asked whether he was violating it, he said, "I was just doing you guys a favor. … If that's the case, then we won't do it again."

16. the ad ran because....
it was running in the Georgia primary and the local stations in Jacksonville service that area. They said there was no way NOT to air them. It was AFTER the Florida primary anyway, too. NOT his fault.

7. by the way, I invited Obama...
to our town via his invitation link on his website. Of course, he can't come, but would you believe that the campaign actually called me in person to decline? Now, that is what I call connecting with your grassroots. I was highly impressed, although somewhat disappointed. But, if there is a redo, I'm sure he will be back somewhere here....

That will be more exciting than when I got to shake Kerry's hand.....

I'm in Dubya land so that is why Hillary was here and not Barack. Can't wait until McCain starts coming here. *NOT!!!!!* Dubya came to my town a lot and one time they put up an anti-Bush billboard and they had to change the whole way they flew him in so his motorcade didn't have to come past it.....they will probably send Bush back here to fundraise....OH JOY!!!!

9. She was walking on the line. She of course got local press that she was in the state, and
waved to locals as she came and went.

But she didn't blatently break the rules

15. Label the visit a fundraiser, and it's okeedokee
I think the restriction was for phone calling & tv ads & opening campaign offices.. fundraisers were the wink-wink-nod-nod..

17. She just had her picture on the front page of most newspapers
Of her shaking hands and waving to cameras the day before the primary vote. But its OK because she said it was not a campaign stop.
