Clay Confirms Obama Has 50 New Superdelegates

Rep. Lacy Clay (D-MO), Sen. Barack Obama’s Missouri co-chairman and pledged Obama superdelegate, said Obama will gain the support of 50 undecided Democratic superdelegates later this week, according to the Columbia Missourian.

Said Clay: “She (Sen. Clinton) will not make up those numbers. This race is over.”

We'll see. There was word that the 50 SDs would be announced today and it didn't happen, so I'll believe it when I hear it.

Or at least hold off the big names.

7. Obama has to get his game up for PA
NC, my state is supposed to come into play, but we're not till May.

Right now he is the favored candidate, and I hope to help keep it that way too.

15. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for this to continue until PA
PA will be a vital state in the GE and it's important for Obama to introduce himself to the electorate and painstakingly build up an infrastructure over the next month that will penetrate deep into the state. That kind of organization and media exposure will serve him well in the GE.

Hopefully Clinton won't continue down the path she's on. If she does I think Obama has learned a lesson and will strike back hard.

41. Extremely important point!
Obama is using the primaries to build his grassroots organization and as a dry run for the general election. Hillary is simply finger painting in her own poo--to quote Elrond Hubbard in post above. It is important for people who usually don't vote to PRACTICE voting! I know it may sound absurd but it is true! The more you do something the easier it gets and the more likely you are to do it. I would like to see this continue at least thru PA--if and only if-- HRC stays out of the gutter. It has been suggested that she may try to fatally wound Obama so she can run again in 2012. I hope this is not the case.

17. The Clintons' scorched earth tactics are turning the Democratic Establishment off.
It's all about to come to a screeching end.

Hillary has about 10 days to ask Obama to be his VP and then the shit is going to hit the fan.

She will wind up being a junior Senator from New York for the rest of her career and just a footnote in history.

One, because she's fucking unfit for office (no one who suggests they get to pick their presidential powers is), and two, I get to watch arrogant assholes who "knew" she was "due" to be "anointed" gnash their teeth and support Obama or finally leave DU.

Looking forward to it!

18. she's gonna go fire and brimstone if that's so
which i'd love to see. one note: if this is really his strategy he better hit her with everything he's got all week. non-stop. put her under an avalanche of her entire past, in the quicksand of her own rhetoric and corruption charges. monkey wrench is he has to do it artfully. she's gonna cry foul if there's a that big of a move against her, and he'll have to put her under microscopic scrutiny to neutralize the hellfire she is definitely gonna raise....

the next two weeks are going to interesting no matter what the scenario

43. Pathetic. They were all too happy to have the numbers out there
when she led in super delegates. However, this would allow Obama to take over the super delegate lead. I DO NOT think super delegates should decide who wins. That means I don't want them to overturn who has the lead but I would not mind them topping off the person who has the lead so that this thing could be over.
