The Texas SOS office breaks down the early voting and total votes statewide.

The math works out to Obama winning the early voting 51-48 and Hillary winning the primary day voting 54-45. Early Voting was 45% of votes, primary day voters were 55%. The exit poll also showed people who decided who to vote for in the last 3 days broke for Hillary by 61-38.

2. And yet, she lost the delegate count by 4
Because she got destroyed in the caucus.....

In truth, Hillary lost Texas, she needed to win that state. She lost. Its time to drop out.

4. Let her stay in.
It's up to the superdelegates. And I trust the superdelegates will end this sooner than later.

13. I trust the superdelegates will...
NOT overturn the will of the pledged delegates.

Hillary can try but the legitimacy of the party will be at stake. The SDs won't do it.

And I suspect more and more will come to this conclusion quickly.

PS - the superdelegates are simply a fact of this process. we can't change them this election. and i think they will respect the pledged delegate race.

5. caucuses are undemocratic
we don't win general elections by caucus. It's nice having a base of students and other people without responsibilities so they can drop everything they are doing to spend 3 hours caucusing.

Hillary's supporters are working people with busy lives. If you can't see how undemocratic caucuses are, you have drunk the kool-aid and are beyond redemption.

9. If you care about who you want as your president
then you can spend a little time getting them into office. Democracy is more than marking a box on a Diebold voting machine. Caucuses are the purest form of democracy and that is why Obama has won them all. You can't rig a caucus vote!

10. A mom with four kids
and a full time job has no responsibilities? Two went with me. One voted her first time, and caucused!

I'll take the grape.

8. The bigger math --- beyond TX simply does not = a Hillary win
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 03:54 AM by RiverStone
Even if she won every contest between now and when ever this trench war ends - Obama has a lock on the pledged delegates.

Sorry Herman, it's a drag to let go of something you fought so hard for - my empathy there.

I can't fathom Hillary wants the party to implode HUGE in Denver. She could win ONLY now if the Super Delegates over-ride the pledged delegates will. Too many leaders in our party have said they will not let that happen. It does and we lose the GE.

The math has an inevitable conclusion. Battle well fought - but now it is not if, but when Hillary will concede.

No gloating or bragging here - we need you this fall - I'm simply being realistic.

peace~:)

12. Show me the Hillary math --- I really suck at math --- so I'm open to being corrected
But I have seen it and hear it from so many sources now, that I'm convinced.

Though show me how she can win without a HUGE convention floor fight that will tear our party apart.

15. Interesting. I though it was pretty lame, but I also thought Obama's rebuttal ad was pretty lame.
I don't get those kinds of ads, but they really do register with a lot of people. Maybe if I had children, I would see things differently.

16. Hillary was just telling the truth
I am proud that Hillary was able to get the truth out about Obama. And apparently people listened. Hillary is going to be our president.

18. Hillary exposed an Obama weakness. That's a good thing for the party.
I'm not saying that all the late breaking voting was because the 3-am ad.

But I see lots of Obama supporters saying so, and saying that it is hugely unfair. But consider this. McCain (or others) are going to be much, much more pointed in bringing down Obama on the issue of national security. If all it takes is one ad simply saying "take into account national security and experience" to make Obama lose, isn't that good information we should know about now, before we nominate someone?
