Question for Obama supporters from an Obama supporter
Why is MSNBC saying that Barack is only 90 delegates ahead of Hillary? At first they were saying (before Texas,Ohio, etc) that he had a 157 delegate lead. I know she did not gain that many delegates from those wins so why are they changing it? Thanks.

1. Depending on who is doing the speaking...
...some count SDs amount the count, others do not. Some count declared SDs, some rumored, some public and some not. Don't think that really clarifies anything, but it's the reason you hear several numbers floated.

2. Hmmmm..I'm used to the differences between MSNBC and CNN
but this is MSNBC that changed their numbers drastically. Wierd.

3. A network can speak with many voices, too.
I watch MSNBC way too much and can say with some confidence that the message can vary quite a bit. But the answer above pretty much hit the nail on the head. One count included SDs and the other did not.

6. Thanks!
I seem to have shown up during a time of great acrimony. I'll try my best to keep it civil.

7. You sure did! It's not always like this around here; hopefully
things will chill out once the Dem field is narrowed.

4. I think the delegate math is challenging and confusing

Look for further changes.

I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from that difference right now. Both will shift.

And I hope I can count as an "Obama supporter". He is not now my first choice, nor even my second or third from among all the dem candidates (we had a very good crop this season) but he will get my enthusiastic support should he win the nomination.

8. I'm not sure of this, but guess -- 157 is PLEDGED delegate lead, the other figure includes SDs NT
