Edwards supporters, who are you supporting now?
To prevent Obama cultists from influencing the results, I haven't made this into a poll question. Who do you want to see win the nomination, Obama or Hillary?

9. Anyone but Clinton.
She was the bottom of my list when this started and she was the last one I would vote for back when there were a bunch of candidates. At this point in time, if she gets the nomination, I will NOT vote for her under any circumstances. I have always disliked her and her dirty campaigning has moved my opinion from dislike to actually hating her.

The number of times you can vote in a poll doesn't matter as much as the question of whether or not the poll question is directed at you.

29. Maybe this will put a dent in her Hillary haze....
...I started working for Democrats in 1960 when I was 12 years old. I was inspired by a biography I read about FDR and I wanted to have another president like FDR in Washington. FDR was bigger than life to me. That was the year I also got my first Scottish Terrier because I wanted a dog just like Fala. My parents were staunch Republicans and I was at age 12 catching a city bus to go downtown (small town in Ohio) to work after school in the Kennedy campaign. My gal pals were sitting around and giggling about boys while I was involved in politics.

I have NEVER voted for a Republican and I have NEVER missed an election ~~ even if it was only for dog catcher. My undergrad degree is political science ~~ big surprise, right?

If Hillary Clinton is the nominee, come this November, I will NOT be voting for the Democratic presidential candidate. I will NOT vote for her under ANY circumstances.

If I feel this way with my background....imagine the negatives out there against her. She will give us President McCain and that IMO is probably worst than Monkey Boy. I cannot imagine a more horrendous disaster than my beloved Democratic Party nominating Repubbie Lite Hillary so that we can make sure McCain wins.

JMHO

66. Anyone who would vote for McCain, regardless of
who our nominee is, I don't believe would ever vote Dem anyway. He's the polar OPPOSITE of HRC and Obama on all issues. I'm referring to our supposed Dems saying they wouldn't vote for either HRC or Obama, whichever gets the nomination. It's absolutely disgusting that any Dem would rather refuse to support our nominee than to try to beat McCain.

68. You think that Hillary is not disliked in our own party?
Seriously....you really think that after the stunts she has pulled, this kind of ugliness will automatically be forgiven?

If she is the nominee, it will spell total disaster for the Dems in November and we are looking at another McGovern or Dukakis outcome.

What would you like some of us to do who truly find Clinton totally without any redeeming moral value? Vote for her anyhow? There are a lot of people like me who deeply dislike and distrust her and are repulsed by her.

I am being very sincere and serious and please don't just flame back at me and name call. I find it very hard to overcome the voice in the back of my mind that tells me what is and is not moral. I would never under any cirucmstances vote for McCain...but I just cannot bring myself to put an X by the name of Hillary Clinton if she unfortunately is the nominee. I view her with total disgust.

Tell me what the hell my choices are, OK? And, again, I am being sincere. What should a Dem do who feels forced out of her party if a certain person is nominated?

76. All I can tell you...
Honestly, I've never felt very good about Obama or his chances or some of the other crap going on, but I will be fighting, defending him, and shouting from the rooftops for him if he gets the nomination because the alternative of McCain would finish off our economy, keep our soldiers dying in a war (or wars), more jobs lost, no hope of anything better as far as the health care crisis, our social security completely done away with, etc. etc. etc. Sometimes we are voting against someone rather than for the other one, the lesser of the two evils, and actually I think considering they are all just politicians, we end up doing that quite often. So, please look at it as a vote against McCain if you have to. The alternative is just too awful.

You do NOT have to defend yourself against Lirwin, I think people on the boards have read enough of that persons posts to know that the whole "Repub" thing from them is a gut response by now.

They just can't accept that people don't want to support Hillary.

I respect and admire the fact that many Hillary supporters are so staunch for their candidate, however things like what they posted should simply be ignored. If the Forum powers that be get enough complaints, they will deal with it.

Please don't ever feel like you have to defend your background, you've no reason to.

supporters of anyone don't get my respect or admiration. if you're not willing to criticize and accept criticism and see any critique of your candidate as "_____-hating" or "-ist," frothily justifying any ends to any means, rather than logically explaining and defending and demurking, i have trouble seeing that as anything but blind allegiance akin to nationalism as opposed to steadfast faithfulness and loyalty.

but i agree. hepburn does not need to defend her background. and i for one respect and admire her. :)

Though in truth, both he and Mrs. Clinton are too much in bed with corporate interests for my taste. In the end, Mrs. Clinton tends to be too polarizing as a person, too many people simply hate her because her name is Clinton, on both sides of the aisle.

In the end, I'll vote for the eventual nominee in the general election.

I'm glad I live in Iowa and got to caucus for Mr. Edwards.

whom I hope will be Senator Obama. But I will cheerfully vote for a stuffed jackalope if that's what it takes to keep the GOP out of the White House.

It should fairly clear where most of the Edwards supporters went. The pick your candidate polls here went from 50%+ for Edwards to 50%+ for Obama when Edwards dropped out. So unless one wants to make a "No True Edwards supporter" argument, there is not much debate on this.

as well as Richardson. Could be just rumors.

91. Where did you hear that? I'm afraid he'll do the opposite
I heard from people who are well-connected a while ago that he was thinking of endorsing Clinton...now that her candidacy has been revived I am afraid he might do it.

Edwards is the first presidential candidate I have given money to in many years. I was crushed when he suspended his campaign. I don't know why I didn't like Hillary in the beginning, it was just a gut negative reaction. I've tried to come to grips with that irrational dislike and was almost there, but then she decided to throw in 'the kitchen sink'. She knows that she has the advantage because she is a woman and many will see her as a victim if she is attacked politically. Believe me society hasn't changed as much as some would think. There are still those who hold the door for women and their chair (witness Obama at the debate) Until this deferential behaviour is obsolete completely, women will be seen as weaker and different. It's a subtlety, but it is there.

If Hillary wins the nomination, I will vote for her, but I will be muttering the entire way.

I went from Kucinich to Edwards to Obama.
When I voted in the Maryland primary, it was pretty much a tossup for me.
I only slightly favored Obama.
I like Obama more now, but Hillary has turned ugly for me, and I don't like her at all.

I'm excited about the infrastructure building that is going on with the 50 state primary, but bored out of my skull with the mindless attacks the campaign itself is degenerating into.

Actually, I was a Kucinich supporter, and saw Edwards as a possible nose-holder in the GE. These other two don't make it that far.

BTW, the continual use of the slur "cultists" to describe those who prefer Obama just engenders bad feelings that won't be helpful if HRC does become the candidate.

Last fall I was:

1. Edwards
2. Dodd
3. Clinton
4. Obama

I'm convinced that the one candidate that could unite the opposition and ignite them is Hillary. She is so incredibly polarizing. I have yet to see one compelling argument that would make it seem like she could overcome that.

I think Obama is weak, and I threw up a little at the idea of him putting republicans on his cabinet, but Hillary must not be the nominee.

But for Christ's sake, Edwards is SO much better than either of these guys....
